Admission to PG Fine Arts 2021

The University invites online applications for admission to Post-graduate Courses M.A) of 2-year duration consisting of 4 Semesters of 6- months each in the following subjects under the Faculty of Fine Arts in the session 2021-2022. Online Application can be made on the University Website : www.rbu.ac.in and https://online.rbu.net.in from 05/09/2021 to 15/09/2021.

    + Programmes

    Academic Programmes: M.A. (2-year under semester system)
    Subjects: Rabindra Sangeet, Vocal Music, Dance, Drama, Musicology, Instrumental Music, Percussion and Western Classical Music.

    Note:
    • Instrumental Music includes the following instruments: Sitar, Sarod, Violin, Flute, Esraj, Harmonium, Santoor and Guitar (Hawaiian).
    • Western Classical Music includes the following instruments: Piano, Violin, Guitar.
    • Percussion includes the musical instruments: Tabla, Pakhwaj and Khole.
    Instrumental Music, Western Classical Music and Percussion – these three subjects are under the Department of Instrumental Music.

    + Admission Procedure

    • In view of the present pandemic, the entire admission process including the admission test for admission to M.A. Academic Programmes under the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2021-22 academic session would be conducted online through the University’s own IT infrastructure and platform.
    • Admission Test would be conducted in 2 (two) phases as noted below:
      • Phase-I: Practical Test [Full marks: 50]
        At the time of submission of application for admission, candidates would have to upload a raw, unedited ‘home-made’ video of their performance of 4-5 minutes duration recorded in MP4 format on the topic/s to be selected by the concerned department and mentioned in the admission notification. In the video, the candidate should be clearly visible during his/her performance. Preferably, no accompanying instruments should be played during the performance and/or background music to be added to the video. The post-production editing is strictly prohibited. The recorded video would have to be submitted by the candidates online as per instructions to be provided on university’s admission website. Only the candidates, shortlisted based on their performance as stated above, would be admitted to Theoretical Test in Phase-II to be held on such date/s as would be notified in the university website.
      • Phase-II: Theoretical Test (Written Test) [Full marks: 30]
        Online MCQ based admission test would be conducted on prescribed syllabus of the department. There would be 15 (fifteen) questions of 2 (two) marks each. There would be no negative marking for wrong answer. The online test would be conducted through university’s own examination platform.
      Academic marks of H.S. or its equivalent- Full score-20
      The candidates obtaining at least 40% marks (out of a total of 50) in Practical Test (30% for SC/ST/PWD and 36% for OBC-A&B candidates) would qualify in the Phase-I of Admission Test and would be eligible for the Phase-II of the Admission Test i.e. Online Proctored Theoretical Test (Online Proctored Written Test) having the same qualifying marks i.e. 40% out of a total of 30. The result of the qualified candidates would be published on the University website. The marks of the Phase-I and Phase-II of the Admission test would be made available to the Secretary, Faculty Councils by the external agency to be hired for the admission test, for taking necessary action and also for record. Aggregate of the total score (a + b + c = total score) would be counted towards preparation of merit lists which would be subject to verification.

    + Course Fees

    Course Fees to be paid at the time of admission for 1st Semester :
    • Rabindra Sangeet, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Percussion, Dance, Drama and Western Classical Music:
      Rs. 1965/- + additional Bank Charge.
      For Foreign Students: Rs. 5115/- + additional Bank Charge.
    • Musicology:
      Rs. 3265/- + additional Bank Charge
      For Foreign Students: Rs. 4065/- + additional Bank Charge

    + How to Apply

    The applicants are advised to follow the instructions noted hereunder while filling up the Application Forms online:
    • In order to apply online, applicants have to register themselves first.
    • During registration, applicant will be asked to provide an e-mail id and a mobile number, these must be valid ones because initial login password will be sent to the provided e-mail id and mobile number via SMS, and in future, all correspondences in this regard may be made to these e-mail id and the given mobile no. via SMS.
    • Applicants must provide valid email id & mobile number. else the registration process will not be completed.
    • After registration, the password will be sent to the registered e-mail id and mobile number.
    • It is recommended that the applicant should change their password on the first log in, if required.
    • After successful login, applicant will be required to select course(s) he / she may wish to apply and check the eligibly first. Once found eligible he / she can fill up rest of the Admission Form.
    • An applicant will be required to upload scanned copy of mark sheet of Higher Secondary and Hons. Examination, his / her scanned Photograph and Signature during filling up the admission form; therefore, he/she is advised to keep these ready before filling up the admission form.
    • An applicant will be required to upload video clippings of his/her performance in the concerned subject as per instruction given in the notification.
    • If the applicant does not have all required information at the time of filling the form, he/she can save the incomplete application as a draft (by clicking on ‘Next’ or ‘Previous’ button) and log out. Later, by login back to his/her account again he/she may complete the rest of application form.
    • After filling up all required information to submit the same, applicant must agree with the given declaration, clicking on check box. It is important to note that, once it is submitted, the information already entered cannot be altered under any circumstances. Therefore, they are advised to be sure about the accuracy and relevance of the filled up information before clicking the submit button.
    • After Submission of the application, applicant will be able to download or take print out of the filled up ‘Application Form’ bearing the AIN (Application Identification Number) and his / her other information.
    • The automatically generated AIN (Application Identification Number) number shall be treated as unique identification number for an application during the admission process. Therefore, any Application Form erroneously downloaded and printed without automatically generated AIN (Application Identification Number) will not be accepted under any circumstances.
    • The applications, once applied by the Applicant cannot be cancelled or altered

    • Publication and Notification of Advertisement in the Newspaper: on or before 03/09/2021
    • Availability of online Admission form: 05/09/2021 to 15/09/2021
    • Publication of Master List: 16/09/2021
    • Video clipping evaluation and Preparation of result by concerned department: 21/09/2021
    • Notice for Theoretical Test and publication the list of qualified candidates for Theoretical Test on: 23/09/2021
    • Theoretical Test: 25/09/2021
    • Publication of 1st Provisional Merit List: 29/09/2021
    • Online Provisional Admission: 30/09/2021 to 03/10/2021
    • Commencement of Class: 25/10/2021
    • Confirmation of Admission through verification of original documents in the Faculty office: Notify later
