Online Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Honours Graduates of both CBCS and (1+1+1) pattern who passed out 2019 and 2020 and Graduates of Programme Courses of CBCS of passing year 2020 only for admission to the following regular full time PG Courses (duration: 2 years or 4 Semesters) for the session 2020-2021.

For newly introduced Professional courses (MBA, Master in Computer Science, Master in Journalism And Mass Communication), there is no restriction on year of passing of UG course. A candidate having requisite qualification may apply for admission to the Professional courses irrespective of the year of passing of the qualifying examination.

Only completed online application will be considered. Application website is pg.skbuonline.com or skbu.ac.in. All notifications and lists regarding the said admission will be published in this website.

A candidate may apply for maximum three courses.
Any candidate already applied for/admitted in general PG course may also apply for the professional courses. In such case there shall be no bar for application for more than three subjects. However no Student will be permitted to take admission in two courses in the same academic year.

    + Eligibility

    • 80% seats will be for the Honours Graduates of Home University with 03 year Honours in relevant subject who have completed their graduation in the year 2019 & 2020.
    • 20% seats will be for the:
      • Honours Graduates of Other Universities with 03 year Honours/major in relevant subject who have completed their graduation in the year 2019 & 2020.
      • The Programme Course student passed in 2020 with at least 60% in aggregate may apply for PG course in his/her Discipline 1.
      • Students of SKBU who did not get chance of admission in 80% category are eligible to be considered in 20% category also.
    M.A. in Anthropology & Tribal Studies 03 year Honours Graduates/Programme Graduates (CBCS) having any of the following subjects as Discipline 1 in Anthropology, Botany, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Zoology may also apply.
    M.A. in Sociology 03 year Honours Graduates/Programme Graduates (CBCS) having any of the following subjects as Discipline 1 in Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, History, Philosophy, Political Science may also apply.
    M.A. in Economics 03 year Honours Graduates/Programme Graduates (CBCS) having any of the following subjects as Discipline 1 in Economics, Mathematics & Statistics may also apply.
    M.A. in Journalism And Mass Communication Honours Graduate in any discipline/Programme Graduates (CBCS) with the relevant Subject as Discipline 1.
    M.Sc. in Computer Science (i) B.Sc. in Computer Science Honours
    or
    (ii) B.Sc. Programme with Computer Science and Mathematics
    or
    (iii) BCA.
    Master in Business Administration (MBA) Honours Graduate in any discipline/Programme Graduates (CBCS) with the relevant Subject as Discipline 1.
    M.A./M.Sc. of OTHER Courses: Graduates with Honours /Major in the subject of study (CBCS and 1+1+1 pattern)/Programme Graduates (CBCS) may apply for PG course in his/her Discipline 1 .

    Note for the Professional Courses (M.A in Journalism And Mass Communication, M.Sc. in Computer Science and Master in Business Administration):
    • Any candidate already applied for/admitted in general PG course may also apply for the professional courses. In such case there shall be no bar for application for more than three subjects.
    • For above mentioned Professional courses there is no restriction on year of passing of UG course.
      A candidate having requisite qualification may apply for admission to the Professional courses irrespective of the year of passing the qualifying examination.
    • Only the qualifying degree irrespective of the year of passing of the respective qualifying examination to achieve the degree will be considered as eligibility to apply for admission to the professional courses.

    ** Reservation for UR- PWD has been given from the UR seats after distribution to SC/ST/OBC-A & OBC-B categories. If candidates of UR PWD are not available, the seats will be converted back to UR category.

    *** Reservation for PWD- SC has been given from allotted seat of SC category where the 5% figure is 0.5 or above. If candidates of SC PWD are not available, the seats will be converted back to SC category.

    Note: M.Sc. in Mathematics, M.A. in English, M.A. in History are conducted by J. K. College, Purulia and M.A. in Bengali is conducted by Nistarini College, Purulia on self-financing basis and admission will be made through central counseling by the University.

    + Required documents

    Required documents to be uploaded:
    Age proof, Identity proof, Mark sheets/Grade Cards, Govt. approved Certificate of Reservation, Certificate of PWD, Sports Person and certificate of EWSs (if any) are required to be uploaded during online admission.

    Course fees for Professional Courses:
    • M.Sc. Computer Science: Rs. 20,000/- per Semester
    • M.A. Journalism & Mass Communication: Rs. 20,000/- per Semester
    • Master in Business Administration (MBA): Rs. 20,000/-per Semester
    Mode of Payment is online only through Payment Gateway in the admission portal by Debit/Credit card and Net Banking. Candidates are not to come to the University counter for any payment.

    + Selection Process/Process of Merit list framing

    • 80% Category: Selection will be made strictly in order of merit by taking into the consideration of Aggregate Percentage only.
    • 20% Category: There will be no Entrance Test for this year. Selection will be made in order of merit by taking into the consideration of Aggregate Percentage only.
    • For the Honours Candidate of (1+1+1) pattern, Percentage of Marks obtained in Honours subject will be considered.
    • Both for the Honours and Program course candidates of CBCS Curriculum, the CGPA secured will be considered.
    CGPA will be converted to percentage by multiplying it by 10 for the students of SKBU. For other Universities instructions given in the Grade Card by the Universities will be followed. If no instruction/formula is available, the standard procedure will be adopted.

    In case of tie, following will be considered.
    • The marks (percentage of best four subjects) of HS (10+2) will be considered.
    • If again tie occurs then the Aggregate Percentage of Madhyamik (10th level) will be considered.
    • If still tie remains Aggregate Percentage of 1st and 2nd language subjects obtained in H.S (10+2) will be considered.
