Admission procedure to the first semester of following PG Courses for the session 2021-2022 will start from 01/09/2021 as per the Admission Notification and Admission Schedule and the guidelines as per Govt. Notification No. 706-Edn(CS)/10M-95/14, dated 13/07/2021 by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, will be strictly followed during the admission procedure.

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates of Honours Graduates of both CBCS and (1+1+1) pattern who passed out during 2020 and 2021 and Graduates of Programme Courses of CBCS of passing year 2020 and 2021 only for admission to the following regular full time PG Courses (duration- 2 years or 4 Semesters) for the session 2021-2022.

For Professional courses M.B.A, Computer Science, Journalism and Mass Communication and newly introduced Professional courses like Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Integrated B.Lib.I.Sc.–M.Lib.I.Sc., L.L.M, Performing Arts (Music-Vocal-Hindustani) Performing Arts (Music-Vocal-Rabindra Sangeet), there is no restriction on year of passing of UG course. A candidate having requisite qualification may apply for admission to the Professional courses irrespective of the year of passing of the qualifying examination.
  • Only completed online application will be considered. All notifications and lists will be published in the following website:University website www.skbu.ac.in and PG Admission portal is https://pg.skbu.ac.in.
  • A candidate may apply for maximum three courses. Any candidate already applied for / admitted in general PG course may also apply for the Professional courses. In such case for the Professional courses there shall be no bar for application for more than three subjects. However no student will be permitted to take admission in two courses in the same academic year.

    + Eligibility Criteria

    • 80% seats will be for the Honours Graduates of Home University with 03 year Honours in relevant subject who have completed their graduation in the year 2020 & 2021.
    • 20% seats will be for the:
      • Honours Graduates of Other Universities with 03 year Honours/major in relevant subject who have completed their graduation in the year 2020 & 2021.
      • The Programme Course student passed in 2020 and 2021 with at least 60% in aggregate may apply for PG course in his/her Discipline 1
      • Students of SKBU who did not get chance of admission in 80% category are eligible to be considered in 20% category also.
    Note: There will no distribution of 80% and 20% seats for Master in Law (LLM). 100% seats will be given to external (other University) candidates.

    M.A. in Anthropology & Tribal Studies: 3 year Honours Graduates in Anthropology, Botany, Economics, Geography, History , Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology & Zoology or Programme Graduates (CBCS) having any of the above mentioned subjects as Discipline 1 may also apply.

    M.Sc. in Biotechnology: Bachelor Degree in Life Science (B.Sc.) / 3 year Honours Graduates in Agriculture, Animal Science, Botany, Biotechnology, Bio-Chemistry, Genetics, Life Science, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Zoology and allied subjects or Programme Graduates(CBCS) having any of the above mentioned subjects as Discipline 1 may also apply.

    Master in Business Administration (MBA): (i) 3 year Honours Graduates / Programme Graduates(CBCS) in any discipline or (ii) Bachelor Degree (under 10+2+4 system) in Engineering and Technology/ Medical Science/ Law/Professional Courses or its equivalent from any recognised University or (iii) Bachelor Degree (under 10+2+3 system) in Business Administration (BBA).

    M.Sc. in Computer Science: (i) B.Sc. in Computer Science Honours or (ii) B.Sc. Programme with Computer Science and Mathematics or (iii) BCA.

    M.A. in Economics: 3 year Honours Graduates in Economics, Mathematics & Statistics or Programme Graduates (CBCS) having any of the above mentioned subjects as Discipline 1 may also apply.

    M.Sc. in Environmental Science: 3 year Honours Graduates in Environmental Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geography(Sc), Geology, Microbiology, Biotechnology & Zoology or Programme Graduates(CBCS) having any of the above mentioned subjects as Discipline 1 may also apply.

    Integrated B.Lib.I.Sc.–M.Lib.I.Sc.: B.A./B.Sc. in Library and Information Science or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. or MBBS/BDS or LLB or Master degree in any discipline may also apply.

    M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication: Honours Graduates / Programme Graduates (CBCS) in any discipline are eligible to apply.

    Master in Law (LL.M.): LLB (3 Years or 5 Years integrated course).

    Master in Performing Arts (Music:Vocal –Hindustani and Rabindra Sangeet): B.A. in Music / B.Mus from any recognized University are eligible to apply.

    M.Sc. in Psychology: B.A. / B.Sc. (Hons.) in Psychology.

    M.A. in Sociology: 3 year Honours Graduates in Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, History, Philosophy, Political Science or Programme Graduates (CBCS) having any of the above mentioned subjects as Discipline 1 may also apply.

    M.A. / M.Sc. of OTHER Courses: 3 year Honours /Major in the concerned subject and or Programme Graduates (CBCS) having the same subject as Discipline 1 may apply for PG Course.

    Note for the Professional Courses (Master in Biotechnology / Business Administration / Computer Science / Environmental Science / Integrated B.Lib.I.Sc.–M.Lib.I.Sc. / Journalism & Mass Communication / LL.M. / Performing Arts–Music: Vocal – Hindustani and Rabindra Sangeet):
    • Any candidate already applied for / admitted in general PG course may also apply for the professional courses. In such case there shall be no bar for application for more than three subjects.
    • For above mentioned Professional courses there is no restriction on year of passing of UG course.
      A candidate having requisite qualification may apply for admission to the Professional courses irrespective of the year of passing the qualifying examination.

    Mode of Payment is online only through Payment Gateway in the admission portal by Debit/Credit card and Net Banking. Candidates are not come to the University counter for any payment.

    + Selection Process / Process of Merit list framing

    • For the Honours/ Programme Course (CBCS) students only passing year 2021 & 2020 except Professional Courses will be considered.
    • Programme course students may apply for PG admission in the subject of 1st Discipline only.
    • The candidates of the Programme course securing minimum 60% marks will be eligible to apply for PG course study in 1st Discipline only.
    • For the Hons. Candidate of (1+1+1) pattern, Percentage of Marks obtained in Honours subject will be considered.
    • Both for the Hons and Program course candidates of CBCS curriculum, the CGPA secured will be considered.
    • CGPA will be converted to percentage by multiplying it by 10 for the students of SKBU. For other Universities instructions given in the Grade Card by the Universities will be followed for conversion of CGPA to percentage and if no instruction/formula is available the standard procedure will be adopted and if Aggregate Percentage is available in addition to CGPA then that percentage will be considered as final in case no conversion formula is mentioned in the Grade Card.
    • 80% Category: Selection will be made strictly in order of merit by taking into the consideration of Aggregate Percentage of the Marks secured in Graduation only.
    • 20% Category: There will be no Entrance Test for this year. Selection will be made in order of merit by taking into the consideration of Aggregate Percentage of the Marks secured in Graduation only.
    In case of tie, following will be considered.
    • The marks (percentage of best four subjects) of HS (10+2)will be considered.
    • If again tie occurs then the marks of Madhyamik (10thlevel) will be considered.
    • If still tie remains Aggregate Percentage of 1st and 2nd Language subjects obtained in HS (10+2) will be considered.
    Note:
    • During filling up the Form for admission if any candidate applies for admission in Nistarini College or JK College as the first preference and if get admitted in the said college afterwards he/she will not be upgraded for admission to SKBU even when seats fall vacant in SKBU.
    • Any candidate if applies for admission in SKBU as the first preference, but got admission in Nistarini College or JK College, in later time the candidate may be upgraded to SKBU after fulfillment of all terms and conditions.
