Admission to Post Graduate Degree Course 2020-2021

  • Online application: from 6th January, 2020
  • Last date for the submission of online application and the application fee for Post Graduate degree courses (Excluding MBA) : 10th March, 2020.

  • Tentative dates for Admission: Between 27th, 28th, 30th and 31st and March, 2020.
  • Fee Refund Policy: As per UGC Notification, October, 2018.

  • No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
  • Every applicant must fulfil the eligibility criteria as laid down for each course.
  • The Graduation degree course has to be UGC recognised.
  • If the final degree result is not published at the time of application, % of marks for eligibility will be calculated on the basis of the aggregate of 1st to 4th Semester or Part I and Part II or year 1 and year 2 (as applicable). If, at the time of admission, final degree mark sheet cannot be shown, the admission will be provisional and the student must produce the final degree mark sheet latest by 30th September, 2020; failing which, the admission is liable to be cancelled.
  • If a student, who is admitted provisionally, fails to fulfil the eligibility regarding the required aggregate marks in graduation (45% for General and 40% for reserved category), admission of the student will be cancelled.
  • If the admission is cancelled due to the above mentioned reasons, fees will be refunded as per the fee refund policy of the University.
  • Admission will be based on admission test marks.
* Under Graduate students of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata will not be required to pay any admission fee for Post Graduate degree courses.
The University reserves the right to reject the candidature and/or cancel the application / admission at any stage, if an applicant fails to fulfil the above conditions.

St. Xavier's University offers scholarships to the deserving students who are economically weak. Two types of scholarship are offered to the undergraduate and Post graduate students: (i) 100% tuition fee waiver and (ii) 50% tuition fee waiver.

Separate scholarships are available for MSW students.

Online Application form and other details will be available at the time of the publication of the selection lists for admission.

Eligibility to apply: Monthly income of the parents - Rupees twenty-five thousand (Rs. 25,000/-) or less.

Documents to be submitted at the time of admission:

  • Duly filled up Application Form. (Will be available on the Website at the time of publication of selection list for admission).
  • Annual income documents of the parents.
  • Recommendation letter from the Principal/Headmaster/Headmistress from the institution last attended.
  • For the Christians, letters from the Parish priest.
  • Self-attested photocopy of the marksheet of previous qualifying examination.
