The candidates, who have passed with the requisite marks as mentioned in the Eligibility Criteria, may submit the application online at www.ubkv.ac.in. for admission to two years M.Sc. (Agriculture) / M.Sc. (Horticulture) / M.Sc. (Forestry) Courses in the following disciplines for the session 2022-2023.

    + Eligibility Criteria

    • Students passed with three years Bachelors’ degree course are NOT ELIGIBLE.
    • The minimum age limit for admission to M.Sc. courses is 21 years as on 31.12.2022.
    • Candidates must have passed their Bachelors’ degree in Agriculture/Horticulture or Forestry or have appeared in final examination in the relevant subject under four year Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry undergraduate programme from any recognized Indian/Foreign University.
    • Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks or its equivalent OGPA (6.00 out of 10.00 or 3.40 out of 5.00 or 2.70 out of 4.00 or 2.00 out of 3.00) in Bachelors’ degree for Unreserved and OBC category and 55% marks or its equivalent OGPA (5.50 out of 10.00 or 3.20 out of 5.00 or 2.50 out of 4.00 or 1.80 out of 3.00) in Bachelors’ degree for SC/STcandidates.
    • Candidates of Unreserved and OBC categories must have passed their Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate of 5 (five) best subjects including English as compulsory and for SC/ST category candidates the same shall be 50% marks in aggregate of 5 (five) best subjects including English as compulsory.

    • The number of seats may change subject to availability of eligible teacher/Guide in each Department.
    • Students who obtain their Bachelor Degree from any Private College/University* where the particular Faculty/College/Programme is not accredited by ICAR are not eligible for admission to Master Degree Programme. Students need to upload a certificate in prescribed format (see annexure)/ related format of the respective University issued by the Registrar of the University stating that particular degree programme of the concerned college is accredited by ICAR.
    • 02 Seats shall be reserved for Kashmiri migrants over and above the normal student intake.
    • SC/ST/OBC candidates of outside the state of West Bengal shall be treated as General category candidates.
    • Foreign students will be admitted following University Guideline only.
    *Candidates who have passed from private University/College as 1st batch after establishment are exempted from the requirement of accreditation. Those candidates need to submit a declaration from VC/Registrar as per given Annexure - II. However, all the matters related to accreditation of institute shall be decided following latest ICAR guideline regarding this.

    + Application Fees

    # No application form without paymentof fee will be considered.

    # Only PWD candidates whose disability percentage are 40% or above, are exempted from application fees.However, there is no PWD seat separately in any department and will be treated as per their respective caste category.
    One seat each for Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Horticulture is reserved for Kashmiri migrants over and above the normal student intake. However, they have to qualify the eligibility criteria as mentioned for General and OBC-B candidates.

    + Guideline for Entrance Test

    • M.Sc. entrance test will be conducted module wise (following ICAR AIEEA PG Major Subject Group) for Faculty of Agriculture and Horticulture from the session 2022-23.

    • Duration of the Test – 1 hour;
      Total marks – 60.
    • Questions pattern: MCQ type Questions with four alternatives, each of 1 marks (60x1=60).
    • Qualifying marks of the Entrance Test -
      35% for General, OBC-A & OBC-B categories and 30% for SC, ST categoriesof the Test.
    • There will be negative marks for MCQ is 0.25 for each wrong answer.
    • The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Higher Secondary (marks of 5 best subjects including English as compulsory), B.Sc. and Entrance test.
