Gokhale Memorial Girls' College Admission Procedure for Admission to Under Graduate Courses : 2014 - 2015
Admission Procedure 2014
GOKHALE MEMORIAL GIRLS' COLLEGE
Admissions to B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Honours & General Courses for 2014-2015

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

  • Admission will be conducted strictly according to merit.

  • Inclusion of name in the MERIT LIST does not guarantee admission. The College reserves the right to cancel the admission of a candidate if she fails to comply with the norms set by the College authority. The College shall also abide by the basic admission rules and norms set by the University of Calcutta, which may be subject to revisions from time to time.

  • Merit will be determined by the Total Score points (TSP) calculated on the basis of the data provided by the student. After scrutiny, if any data input by a candidate is found incorrect, the College shall have the right to cancel her candidature.

  • An applicant along with her guardian must be present during admission.

  • Candidate must make note of the Total Course Fee payable during admission [SEE SUBJECT WISE COLLEGE FEES on the site.] and the ADMISSION DATE SCHEDULE carefully.

  • Interested candidates must present themselves with necessary documents and fees within the Reporting Time on the day of admission and get themselves registered at the Subject Counters.

  • The names of registered candidates will be called out serially as per their score position in the MERIT LIST. Candidates who have registered within the stipulated time must be present in the Admission Hall at this time. If a registered candidate is found absent when her name is called out, she will lose opportunity and her candidature may be cancelled.

  • Admission will proceed until seats are filled. If any candidate appears late, even if her position is at the top in the MERIT LIST, she may find all seats filled, since candidates with lower marks have appeared earlier and finished their admission procedure. Hence, for their own benefit, candidates are requested to come as early as possible on the day of admission and register within the Reporting Time.

  • A registered candidate should respond and deposit her Registration Card along with the all the necessary documents as specified by the College.

  • If the stipulated numbers of seats in any subject are filled up, the presence of the remaining candidates who have duly registered within the stipulated Reporting Time and stayed till the end, will be recorded. In case vacancies arise later (but within the cut-off date stipulated by Calcutta University) separate notices will be issued. These students will get priority, if they seek admission at that time. But if a registered candidate leaves the hall and is not present when her name is called out, she will lose her candidature and will not be accommodated when vacancies arise later.

  • Selected candidates must pay the requisite fees in cash in the designated banks and come back to the College with the bank receipt on the same day to receive their Roll Numbers and complete their admission process. The amount of fee payable will be indicated in the Admission Payment Challan, given to a student found eligible for admission after verification of documents. Fees should be paid in either of the following banks:
Ø State Bank of India, Gokhale Road Branch (Beside Post Office)
(from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm)

(from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm)

  • Seats reserved for SC/ST Categories cannot be filled by General Category candidates.
