Dolna Creche, founded in 1971 by Mrs. M. Dasgupta at a time when the concept of a "Creche" was totally new to the people of Kolkata. The creche services that Dolna offers are not just for the very young children starting at 3 months age, day-care services are available for older children till the age of 16 years. The Dolna Creche and the Dolna Day School are run by the Dolna day School Trust, a non-profit making organization.
Dolna Creche the first of its kind in Calcutta started functioning in 1972. It provides safe custody for children of working parents, from the age of 3 months, right up to the age 16 years.
