The Advanced Subsidiary Mathematics examination for Class XI, conducted by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) on April 29, has been cancelled and moved to June 9 following reports that the question paper had circulated before the examination process was completed.
Schools across Kolkata informed students and parents about the revised examination schedule soon after receiving official communication from CAIE. Authorities at Calcutta International School confirmed that concerns regarding the paper had already been raised with the board before the final decision was announced.
More than 100 students from the institution are expected to appear for the rescheduled examination. Students from Vidyanjali International School will also participate in the fresh test after the updated schedule was confirmed by the board.
The original examination date coincided with the second phase of polling in West Bengal. Several schools coordinated with local police stations to ensure that students could travel to their examination centres without interruption during election-related restrictions.
In some cases, alternative arrangements had to be made because certain school campuses were being used for election duties, requiring students to take the examination at different venues.
