The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national-level education board in India that operates under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is one of the most widely recognized education boards in the country, responsible for regulating and overseeing the academic curriculum, examinations, and school affiliations.
CBSE was originally established in 1929 as the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana, covering a few regions such as Ajmer, Gwalior, and Central India. Over time, it expanded and was officially reconstituted as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1952. The board has since evolved to cater to the growing educational needs of students across India and abroad.
CBSE has over 28,000 affiliated schools in India and abroad. Many international schools in countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States follow the CBSE curriculum, making it one of the most widely recognized educational boards globally.
