The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked affiliated schools to carefully verify student and subject information before completing the registration and List of Candidates (LOC) processes for the 2027 board examinations.

The board's latest communication comes after recurring mistakes in student data and delays in LOC submissions during earlier examination cycles. Such issues have created administrative difficulties and, in some cases, caused inconvenience to students.

What Schools Need to Verify

Registration for Classes 9 and 12 and the LOC process for Classes 10 and 12 are expected to begin soon. Schools have been advised to keep accurate student information ready before the submission process starts.

Schools should pay particular attention to the following details:

• Student's complete name as recorded in admission records
• Date of birth
• Gender
• Category, wherever applicable
• Complete names of parents or guardians
• Correct spelling of personal details
• Subjects selected by each student
• Correct subject codes
• Candidate photographs and signatures in the prescribed format

Schools should also confirm that the subjects entered during registration match each student's approved scheme of studies.

Why CBSE Has Issued the Reminder

CBSE has pointed to recurring data-related problems despite earlier instructions asking schools to verify information before submission.

Problems reported during previous examination cycles included:

• Incorrect subjects or subject codes
• Requests for subject changes after submission
• Mistakes in student or parent information
• Failure to submit the LOC
• Submission of the LOC after the prescribed deadline

Such errors can increase administrative work and affect the smooth completion of examination-related procedures.

Schools Told to Prepare Before Submission

CBSE has advised schools to ensure that student records, subject selections and other required information are accurate before the final data is uploaded or submitted.

Accurate information is important because the details provided during these processes are used for subsequent examination arrangements.

Circular Sent to School Authorities

The communication was issued by Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE Controller of Examinations. It has also been circulated among several organisations and authorities responsible for schools across the country.

The organisations mentioned include the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Sainik Schools Society, along with other education authorities.

These bodies have been asked to communicate the instructions to schools under their respective jurisdictions.

When Will the Process Begin?

The latest communication does not mention a specific opening date for registration or LOC submission. CBSE has indicated that both processes will begin shortly.

Schools can therefore use the available time to cross-check student records, confirm subject choices and ensure that photographs, signatures and other required information are ready for submission.
