CBSE Private Candidate Registration 2027: Class 10, 12 Dates | News

Students planning to appear for the CBSE Class 10 or Class 12 board examinations in 2027 as private candidates are still waiting for the official registration notification.

As of September 19, 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not announced the registration dates for private candidates appearing in the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations.

The board's examination-circular section currently contains information related to the 2026-27 academic session, including instructions concerning the submission of the List of Candidates. However, the separate notification for private candidates is yet to be issued.

Based on the schedule followed during the previous examination cycle, the notification could be released around the end of September. Students should wait for the official announcement before relying on any registration date.

What Happened During the Previous Cycle?

For the 2026 board examinations, CBSE released its private-candidate notifications in September 2025, followed by the opening of the application process.

The registration process applied to multiple categories of candidates, including students required to reappear, compartment candidates and those seeking improvement in selected subjects. Separate instructions were also issued for Class 12 candidates.

The previous year's timeline provides a useful indication of the general schedule, but it should not be treated as confirmation of the dates for the 2027 examination cycle.

What Could Be Included in the 2027 Notification?

The upcoming notification is expected to explain the major requirements associated with private-candidate registration. Students may find information covering:

  • Eligibility conditions for private candidates
  • Application opening and closing dates
  • Examination fees and late-fee provisions
  • Subjects available for examination
  • Examination-city selection
  • Online application procedures
  • Category-specific instructions for applicants

During the previous cycle, applications and examination-fee payments were completed through the online system. Candidates were required to submit their forms within the deadline specified by CBSE.

Check Eligibility Before Applying

Candidates should confirm that they meet the applicable eligibility requirements before beginning the registration process.

Students from earlier examination sessions may need to provide previous examination information, including details such as their roll number and year of passing.

Applicants should also verify every detail before submitting the form. Errors or incorrect information can lead to complications during processing and may result in rejection of the application.

Choose the Examination City Carefully

Candidates should pay close attention when selecting their preferred examination city during registration. Under the previous process, the examination centre was allotted based on the city selected in the online application.

Since changes to the selected city were not permitted after allotment, candidates should make their selection carefully before completing the application.

Students Should Wait for the Official Notification

Until CBSE releases the 2027 private-candidate notification, students should avoid relying on unverified registration dates or application links shared through unofficial sources.

Candidates should regularly monitor the official CBSE website for the registration announcement. The official notification will provide the confirmed dates, eligibility requirements, fee information, application procedure and registration link.
