CBSE Urges Schools to Verify Student Data for 2027 Exams | News

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked affiliated schools to ensure that student information submitted for registration and the List of Candidates (LOC) is accurate, complete and updated.

The advisory comes after the Board identified repeated errors in student details and subject information submitted by schools.

According to CBSE, incorrect or incomplete data has created complications during the examination process. Errors in subject codes, subjects selected by students and personal information have resulted in correction requests from schools after the submission deadline.

The Board has also reported instances where schools failed to submit LOC information within the prescribed timeline.

Schools Asked to Check Records Before Submission

CBSE has advised schools to complete the necessary verification before submitting student information. Schools are expected to cross-check details such as:

  • Student's full name and date of birth
  • Gender and category
  • Correctly spelled names of parents or guardians
  • Subjects selected by each student according to the prescribed scheme of studies
  • Candidate photographs
  • Candidate signatures in the required format

The Board has stressed that schools should not wait until after submission to identify discrepancies, as corrections at a later stage can create additional administrative work and may affect the examination process.

Registration and LOC Activities to Begin

The registration process for students in Classes 9 and 11 and LOC submission for Classes 10 and 12 are expected to commence shortly. Schools have therefore been advised to prepare verified student records in advance.

CBSE has also called for proper coordination and planning within schools, particularly because several examination-related activities need to be completed within defined timelines.

The Board said cooperation from affiliated schools would be important for conducting the 2027 examinations smoothly and for ensuring that results are declared according to schedule.

The latest communication serves as another reminder to schools that accurate data submission is an important part of the pre-examination process. Thorough verification before final submission can help reduce correction requests, administrative delays and difficulties for students during subsequent stages of the examination cycle.
