CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Registration Begins: Exam on July 17 and 18 | News


The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the application process for the CSIR UGC NET June 2026 examination. Interested candidates can submit their online applications through the official portal until June 19, 2026.

Conducted jointly with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the examination will take place in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode on July 17 and July 18, 2026.

Exam Timing:
  • Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
  • Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have at least 55% marks in a postgraduate degree.
  • Final-year or final-semester master’s students are also eligible to apply.
  • The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) applicants is 30 years.
  • No upper age limit applies for Assistant Professor eligibility or PhD admissions.

The CSIR UGC NET examination determines eligibility for:

  1. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
  2. Assistant Professor positions
  3. PhD admissions

The examination covers the following scientific disciplines:

  • Chemical Sciences
  • Life Sciences
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Physical Sciences
  • Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences

  1. Visit the official CSIR UGC NET website.
  2. Complete the new registration process.
  3. Enter personal and academic details carefully.
  4. Select the preferred subject and examination city.
  5. Upload scanned documents as required.
  6. Pay the application fee through online payment methods.
  7. Download and save the confirmation page.

Correction Window and Additional Information

Candidates will be allowed to modify specific details in their application forms during the correction period from June 22 to June 23, 2026.

Information regarding admit cards, exam city slips, answer keys, and result dates will be released later through official NTA platforms.
