Kerala SSLC Result 2026 Date | News

Kerala’s SSLC results are expected to be released in the third week of May 2026, while the Plus Two (Class 12) results are scheduled to be announced on May 25, as confirmed by the state’s Education Minister, V. Sivankutty. The announcement provides students with a clear timeline for their results.

During a recent press interaction, the minister also spoke about the challenges faced by students affected by unrest in West Asia, particularly those in Gulf countries whose examinations were disrupted.

Alternative Evaluation System

To address this issue, the government has introduced an alternative evaluation system. Around 633 SSLC students who were unable to attend their exams will be assessed using their performance in model or term tests, along with additional grace marks where applicable.

For approximately 592 higher secondary students, their first-year scores will serve as the primary basis for evaluation. These marks will be combined with second-year internal assessment scores and practical exam results to calculate final grades.

The provisions also cover students from Kerala who were in Gulf countries during the examination period and could not return due to the crisis. Their eligibility for this special assessment will be verified through supporting documents such as hall tickets, passports, and visas, with school principals responsible for confirming their absence.

Students who are dissatisfied with their calculated results will have the option to take improvement examinations later.

Improving Transparency in Internal Assessments

Responding to concerns about inconsistencies in continuous assessment, the minister noted that steps are being taken to make the process more transparent. Schools will be required to display assessment scores publicly on notice boards.

In addition, complaints related to internal evaluation will be reviewed by designated committees within schools to ensure fairness and consistency.

Academic Support for Struggling Students

The state has also launched a focused support initiative for students in Classes 5 to 9 in government schools who scored below 30 percent in written exams. This programme will run from April 20 to April 27, 2026, offering extra academic guidance followed by special tests.

Based on the outcomes of these tests, final promotion decisions will be made, giving students another chance to advance.

Overall, these measures are designed to ensure fairness for students affected by exceptional circumstances while also improving the reliability and transparency of the assessment system.
