Maharashtra Board 2027 Exam Dates: SSC & HSC Schedule | News

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has released the tentative schedule for the 2027 SSC and HSC examinations. The advance announcement is intended to help students, schools and junior colleges prepare their academic plans ahead of the detailed subject-wise timetable.

Key dates: HSC written examinations are scheduled from February 8 to March 16, 2027, while SSC written examinations are scheduled from February 15 to March 11, 2027.

According to the announced schedule, the Class 12 HSC written examinations will be held from February 8 to March 16, 2027. The Class 10 SSC written examinations are scheduled between February 15 and March 11, 2027.

The board issued the probable examination schedule on September 17, 2026. Since the dates are preliminary, students should wait for the final timetable before making subject-specific examination plans.

Maharashtra Board 2027 Exam Schedule

Students will have separate windows for practical work, oral examinations, graded activities and internal assessments before the written papers begin.

Examination Assessment Type Scheduled Dates
HSC Class 12 Practical, oral, graded and internal assessment January 20 – February 6, 2027
HSC Class 12 Written examination February 8 – March 16, 2027
SSC Class 10 Practical, oral, graded and internal assessment January 28 – February 13, 2027
SSC Class 10 Written examination February 15 – March 11, 2027

HSC assessment activities are scheduled to start on January 20, followed by the written examinations from February 8. For SSC students, practical and internal assessment activities are expected to begin on January 28, with the written examination period starting on February 15.

Exams to Be Held Across Nine Divisional Boards

The Maharashtra Board examinations will be administered through the state's nine divisional boards:

  • Pune
  • Nagpur
  • Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
  • Mumbai
  • Kolhapur
  • Amravati
  • Nashik
  • Latur
  • Konkan

Announcing the examination window well in advance allows educational institutions to organise teaching schedules, complete internal assessments and prepare students for the board examinations.

Detailed Subject-Wise Timetable Yet to Be Released

Important: The dates currently available represent the probable examination schedule, not the final subject-wise timetable.

The Maharashtra Board is expected to issue a detailed timetable at a later stage. The final notification is expected to provide subject-specific dates and other examination-related details.

Students should therefore check the board's official website for the final timetable instead of relying solely on the preliminary schedule.

How Students Can Prepare

With the broad examination dates now available, Class 10 and Class 12 students can begin creating a realistic revision plan.

Students can use the available preparation period to:

  • Divide the syllabus into manageable revision targets.
  • Set aside sufficient time for difficult subjects.
  • Complete practical and internal assessment requirements.
  • Include regular revision and practice tests in their study routine.
  • Keep additional time available for revision before individual papers.

Schools and junior colleges can similarly use the preliminary schedule to plan the completion of their syllabus and internal evaluation activities.

The subject-wise Maharashtra SSC and HSC timetable for 2027 will be important for final exam planning and should be followed once officially released by the board.

Note: Students should verify the final examination schedule through the official Maharashtra State Board notification when the detailed timetable is published.
