The Maharashtra Public Service Commission has revised its examination plans following requests from candidates and concerns surrounding the examination and evaluation processes.

MPSC Revises the 2026 Examination Schedule

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has postponed three important examinations scheduled for 2026. The affected examinations are the State Services Main Examination, Civil Engineering Main Examination and Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Main Examination.

The State Services Main Examination was earlier scheduled to start on October 3, 2026. The commission has said that new dates for all three examinations will be communicated separately.

Requests From Candidates and Other Stakeholders

The schedule change follows representations submitted by candidates, parents, student organisations and elected representatives. These groups had sought postponement of the State Services Main Examination.

The decision also comes amid protests by MPSC aspirants concerning alleged irregularities in the examination system, including claims related to the Drug Inspector examination.

2025 State Services Answer Sheets to Be Re-evaluated

In a separate development, the commission has ordered a fresh evaluation of answer sheets from the Maharashtra State Services Main Examination conducted in 2025.

Candidates and student organisations had raised concerns about the evaluation process. The re-evaluation exercise may have an impact on the overall examination timeline, according to the commission.

Committee Reviewing the Examination System

A high-level committee headed by senior bureaucrat V. Radha is also examining the existing MPSC examination framework.

The committee has interacted with candidates and other stakeholders and reviewed examination practices followed in different regions. Its recommendations are expected to provide inputs for improving the commission's examination system.

What MPSC Aspirants Should Do Now

Candidates preparing for the State Services Main Examination 2026, Civil Engineering Main Examination 2026 and Group-B Main Examination 2026 will have to wait for the revised timetable.

No fresh dates have been announced so far for the three examinations. Aspirants who appeared for the 2025 State Services Main Examination will likewise have to wait for the re-evaluation process to be completed.

Candidates are advised to rely on official MPSC notifications for the latest examination dates and further instructions.
