Presidency University Restarts Independent UG Admission Process for 2026 Admissions | News


Presidency University will conduct its own undergraduate admissions once again after a decade of admissions through the West Bengal JEE Board. Applications open Monday and remain available until June 1.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Science Subjects: Minimum 70% aggregate marks
  • Arts & Humanities: Minimum 60% aggregate marks

Entrance Examination Details

The entrance tests will take place from June 11 to June 14 at the College Street campus. Two examination slots will be held each day.

  • OMR-based multiple-choice format
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Negative marking applicable
  • Question papers reviewed by external academic experts

Subject-wise Evaluation Pattern

Chemistry

Questions will cover Mathematics, Physics, and Biology.

Statistics

The examination will mainly assess mathematical aptitude.

Political Science

Focus areas include politics, logical reasoning, analytical ability, and English comprehension.

Economics

Assessment will emphasize Mathematics and English skills.

English Department

  • 25% - Class 10 aggregate
  • 25% - Class 12 aggregate
  • 50% - Class 12 English marks

Sociology Department

  • 25% - Class 10 aggregate
  • 25% - Class 10 Mathematics
  • 25% - Class 12 aggregate
  • 25% - Class 12 English

Science & Geology Formula

  • 25% - Class 10 Mathematics marks
  • 75% - Best three subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology in Class 12
