The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the admit cards for candidates appearing in the UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination for English, Commerce and Sociology. The hall tickets are now available for download through the official examination portal.

The re-test for these three subjects is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10, 2026. Candidates who are scheduled to appear should download their admit cards in advance and verify the information printed on them.

Details Candidates Should Verify

After downloading the admit card, candidates should carefully check important information, including:

  • Name and roll number
  • Examination date
  • Paper or subject
  • Shift and reporting time
  • Examination centre details
  • Other instructions issued for the test

Any error or mismatch in the details should be brought to the NTA's attention through its official communication channels as soon as possible.

Candidates should remember that the advance city intimation slip and admit card serve different purposes. The city slip provides information about the city assigned for the examination, whereas the admit card includes the specific examination-centre details along with other instructions.

What to Carry on Examination Day

Candidates are expected to bring a printed copy of their admit card to the examination centre. They should also read the instructions on the hall ticket carefully, particularly those concerning reporting time, permitted items and other examination-day requirements.

Reaching the centre well before the reporting deadline is advisable to avoid last-minute difficulties.

Why Is the UGC-NET Re-Examination Being Held?

The re-examination for English, Commerce and Sociology follows concerns raised over errors in the question papers used previously.

Following the complaints, the NTA formed a committee to review the reported issues. Its assessment found several types of errors, including factual inaccuracies, typographical mistakes, language and translation-related problems, and grammatical issues.

Based on the committee's recommendations, the agency decided to conduct the affected papers again.

Candidates scheduled for the September 9 and 10 examinations should continue monitoring the official UGC-NET portal for any updates or additional instructions before appearing for the re-test.
