UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Answer Keys Released for GS Paper 1 and CSAT | News

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially published the answer keys for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 on its official website. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now download the solutions for both General Studies Paper 1 and CSAT (General Studies Paper 2).

The release of the official answer keys allows aspirants to compare their responses, estimate probable scores, and analyse their performance before the next stage of the selection process begins.

  3. Select the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2025 link
  4. Choose either GS Paper 1 or CSAT Paper 2

Debate Over Answer Key Transparency

Traditionally, UPSC has released official answer keys only after the completion of the entire examination cycle, including the mains examination and interview process. This practice has often led to discussions among aspirants seeking quicker access to official solutions for better transparency.

Recent updates suggest that the commission may consider introducing provisional answer keys in future examination cycles, allowing candidates to submit objections before the final answers are confirmed.

UPSC Prelims 2026 Updates

Attention has now shifted toward the upcoming examination cycle. The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 is scheduled for May 24, 2026, while admit cards are expected to be released around mid-May 2026.

Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the official UPSC portal using their registration credentials or roll number.

Why the Answer Key is Important

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is conducted for recruitment into prestigious services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, and various other central government positions. Official answer keys help candidates evaluate performance, identify exam trends, understand difficulty levels, and improve preparation strategies for future attempts.
