The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced its examination schedule for 2027, providing aspirants with important dates for major national-level recruitment examinations including Civil Services, NDA, CDS, Engineering Services, and more.

The Civil Services Examination remains one of the country’s most competitive recruitment processes and serves as the entry route for prestigious services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, and several central administrative posts.

According to the official calendar, the notification for UPSC CSE 2027 will be released on January 13, 2027, while the final date for submission of applications has been fixed as February 2, 2027.

The Civil Services Main Examination 2027 will commence on August 20, 2027, and continue for five days. UPSC has also confirmed that the Indian Forest Service Preliminary Examination will be conducted through the same preliminary test.

The publication of the annual examination calendar is expected to help candidates streamline their preparation strategy and plan ahead effectively.

Engineering, Geo-Scientist and Departmental Exams

UPSC has also shared schedules for technical and departmental recruitment examinations for 2027.

The Combined Geo-Scientist Preliminary Examination notification will be released on September 2, 2026, and applications will close on September 22, 2026. The preliminary examination is scheduled for January 10, 2027, while the mains examination will begin on June 19, 2027.

The Engineering Services Examination notification is set to be issued on September 16, 2026. Candidates can submit applications until October 6, 2026, and the preliminary examination will take place on January 31, 2027. The mains examination is scheduled for June 18, 2027.
