Uttar Pradesh to Implement AKTU Digitized Exam Model Across Universities | News

Uttar Pradesh has given the green light for the implementation of the AKTU exam model across all state-run universities, with the exception of those in agriculture and medicine. The move will digitize various exam-related processes, enhancing security with online question papers, digital evaluations, CCTV surveillance, and biometric attendance.

Under the new structure, exam question papers will be digitally sent and printed at the exam centers, eliminating the need for traditional paper transportation. This change is expected to address delays and reduce logistical risks that often accompany manual handling.

The evaluation of answer sheets will also transition to a fully digital platform, enabling remote grading by examiners across various institutions. This move is designed to speed up the grading process, ensuring a more standardized and transparent evaluation system.

To enhance security and reduce instances of malpractice, answer sheets will now feature unique identifiers, such as barcodes, QR codes, and dummy numbers. These identifiers will minimize the risk of paper substitution, loss, or tampering. Furthermore, CCTV surveillance will be installed at all exam centers, with biometric attendance becoming a requirement for both students and examiners.

These additional security measures are expected to make it significantly more difficult for cheating and other fraudulent activities to occur.

Examiners will gain secure, online access to question papers, answer keys, and scanned answer sheets, making the evaluation process more efficient and improving communication between institutions. This shift aims to streamline grading and ensure greater accountability throughout the examination cycle.

This transition to a digital system is expected to yield substantial cost savings by eliminating expenses related to printing, transportation, and manual grading. In addition to the financial benefits, the new system will help address issues such as cheating, paper leaks, and proxy candidates, which have long plagued traditional exam setups.

By minimizing human intervention in sensitive stages, the system will foster greater trust in the fairness and integrity of the examination process.

Experts in education view this move as one of the most significant technological advancements in Uttar Pradesh’s higher education system. The combination of digital tools, enhanced surveillance, and streamlined evaluation procedures is set to set a new benchmark for university exams in the region.
