WBCHSE Opens Excess Admission Application Process for Class XI Session 2026–27 | News


The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has announced the submission process for institutions seeking permission for excess admission in Class XI for the academic session 2026–2027.

According to the official notification, all applications must be submitted exclusively through the online portal. The portal will remain active from 15th May 2026 and no new applications will be accepted after 31st May 2026.



Type of Institution Approved Admission Limit
Self-financed / DA Getting 400 Students
Government / Government Sponsored 300 Students

The Council has further clarified that recommendation from the District Inspector (DI) is mandatory for all applications submitted under this process.

Maximum allowable student strength in Class XI, under all categories, shall not exceed 600 students.
