OBCs Reservation Policy
Undergraduate Admission 2026-2027
Bankura Christian College is a Christian Minority Educational Institution established and administered by the Diocese of Durgapur, Church of North India (CNI), and functions under Article 30 of the Constitution of India.
However, in pursuance of Notification No. 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18 May 2026 issued by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal, all applicants for Undergraduate Admission 2026–27 are hereby informed that the reservation benefits under the OBC-A and OBC-B categories, wherever applicable, shall be governed by the provisions of the aforesaid notification.
As the admission process had commenced prior to the issuance of the said notification, the College shall extend the benefit of reservation to all eligible candidates covered under the revised list/category notified therein during the preparation of subsequent merit lists and admission processes.
Candidates who may have applied under a category that is no longer recognized as eligible for reservation under the aforesaid notification shall not be entitled to claim reservation benefits. If any admission is found to have been granted on the basis of a reservation claim that is not valid under the said notification, such admission shall be liable to cancellation at any stage, and the decision of the College Authority in this regard shall be final.
