Candidates who have passed in the B.Sc. (Hons.) Examination of Calcutta University or equivalent are eligible to apply.

Applicants who have scored at least 50% marks in the qualifying honours / major examination are eligible to apply in the
General Merit category.

Applicants in the
Christian category
must have scored at least 50% marks in the qualifying honours examination.

There is a provision of 5% reservation for Management discretion.

Honours / Major in the Relevant Discipline:
Candidates who have obtained their undergraduate degree with Honours / Major in the subject corresponding to the postgraduate programme are eligible to apply.

Relevant Discipline as a Minor:
Candidates who have not pursued the relevant subject as an Honours/Major but have studied it as a Minor at the undergraduate level are also eligible to apply, provided they have successfully completed all Minor courses/papers in that discipline and have been awarded their bachelor’s degree.

Students (CBCS and CCF) who are currently appearing for, or awaiting the results of their 6th semester examination may apply for admission on a provisional basis,
subject to their successfully passing the qualifying examination with the prescribed minimum marks. All such candidates must submit their final consolidated marksheet on or before 31 October 2026, failing which, or in case they do not meet the required eligibility criteria, their provisional admission will be automatically cancelled. In such circumstances, the candidate will be required to withdraw from the programme,
and no refund of fees will be permitted under any circumstances.
All such candidates are also required to pass in all the papers in earlier semesters (Sem I – V).

No student shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 4 (four) years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. [Explanation: The year of admission shall not be taken into account while
calculating four years from the year of passing the previous qualifying Examination (i.e. 2022 onwards )].

The final marksheets showing PNC or SNC (semester not cleared) are not eligible.

Merit list will be prepared on the basis of % of marks obtained by the candidates.
