[University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test - June 2026] conducted by The National Testing Agency (NTA)
UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor', ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' and ‘admission to Ph.D. only' in Indian universities and colleges.

The NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for (i) 'award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor', (ii) 'appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' and (iii)'admission to Ph.D. only' in Indian universities and colleges.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC-NET June 2026 for 85 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, as per Schedule given in table below:

Important Instructions:
  • Candidates can apply for UGC-NET June 2026 through the "Online" mode only through the website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in .
  • Submission of the Online Application Form may be done by accessing the NTA website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in . The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
  • Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
  • Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin available on the NTA website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
  • Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or Parents/Guardians only and accessible, as all information/communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.
  • In case candidate faces difficulty in applying for UGC-NET June 2026, please contact on 011 4075 9000 / 011 6922 7700 or e-mail at ugcnet@nta.ac.in for any clarification related to the UGC-NET June 2026.
  • Candidates must fill in their particulars carefully, as no changes will be allowed after the final submission of the Application Form. As far as possible, candidates are advised to use Aadhaar verification while completing the Application Form, as this will facilitate the registration and examination process, particularly at the examination centres, as also the processing of their JRF.
  • Application form registration has been enabled through the single sign on service-Meri Pehchan of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, for the convenience of the applicants.
  • Dates mentioned above are tentative, and applicants will be informed in case there is any change due to any reason.

Advisory for Completion of Application Process
The registration portal for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination shall be closing on 20 May 2026 (up to 11:50 PM) 23 May, 2026 (up to 10:00 A.M.).

All candidates who have not yet completed the process are once again advised to ensure that they:
  Fill and submit the online application form paying the prescribed examination fee.
• Download and retain the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates are advised to check all the details filled in the online Application Form carefully before making the fee payment as no change shall be permitted later. Attention may be given to details such as Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Social Category, PwD Status, Difficulty in Writing Status, Scribe Requirement Status, Subject opted, and Exam City Choices selected by the candidate. Candidates should ensure that all information is correct and complete before final submission of the Application Form.

It is reiterated that only candidates who have successfully paid the fee will be considered as having completed the application process.

Advisory for Submission Online Application Form
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC-NET June 2026 examination for 87 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Candidates applying for the UGC-NET June 2026 Examination are once again informed of the following important instructions:
  • Only one application is to be submitted by a Candidate while registering.
  • Multiple Applications for same subjects submitted by a candidate or Multiple applications by the same candidate for different subjects will not be accepted. If more than one application is submitted, only the last submitted application will be considered, and all others will be rejected.
  • Candidates must carefully select their subject while filling out the application form, as no changes will be allowed after submission.
  • Candidates must ensure that all details entered into in the application form are accurate and complete.
