01(One) post of Senior Legal Consultant.

1. Applicant must be a Law Graduate from any recognized University.
2. Legal Consultant must have minimum 05 years of experience in conducting criminal cases/services matters.

1. The engagement to the post of Legal Consultant (Senior) shall be purely on a contractual basis.
2. He shall be bound by oath not to take up after end/termination of contract of any case on which he has worked during the period of contract.
3. The Authority has the right to terminate the contract at any time without giving any reason. And for this purpose, one month's advance notice will suffice. No legal proceedings shall be drawn against the West Bengal Police Department for termination of the contract.

1. Examination of writs/other applications.
2. Preparation and editing of reply/para-wise comments.
3. Draft Circulars and prepare review petitions etc.

4. All issues as may crop up time to time for which legal opinion is necessary.
5. They will take the assistance of office and officials in case matters.
6. They will assist in preparation of draft Reports/Circulars/SOP/Orders etc. relating to West Bengal Police on legal angles.
7. They will be required to visit High Court/West Bengal Administrative Tribunal /Green Tribunal/Central Administrative Tribunal and when required/directed to assist the officials on case matters.
8. They will also examine the Orders/Judgment of the Supreme Court/High Courts and advise further course of action to be taken relating to the matter.

1. He will not disclose the official secrets in any manner and maintain absolute integrity.
2. The Legal Consultant having accepted the offer of engagement shall enter into a contract having the confidentiality clause with West Bengal Police Department detailing the terms and conditions of engagement before being assigned any work.
3. The tenure of the consultant will be for one year which may be renewed annually depending on their performance.
4. Any breach of contract by the Legal Consultant shall be considered sufficient ground for termination of his engagement and may further debar them from further engagement by the Department.
