Notice for the result of Final Combined Competitive Examination and schedule of Personality Test

The result of Final Combined Competitive Examination for recruitment to the post of SubInspector/Sub-Inspectress (Unarmed Branch), Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch) and Sergeant in Kolkata Police – 2023 has been announced and uploaded on the websites of West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (https://prb.wb.gov.in), West Bengal Police (www.wbpolice.gov.in) & Kolkata Police (www.kolkatapolice.gov.in). List of Shortlisted candidates for Personality Test to the post of Sub-Inspector (Unarmed Branch), Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch) and Sergeant in Kolkata Police – 2023 and the list of shortlisted candidates for Personality Test to the post of Sub-Inspectress (Unarmed Branch) in Kolkata Police – 2023 have been uploaded separately. To find the result in the websites, the Not Shortlisted candidates are advised to search by keying-in (or inputting) of their Application Sl. No. and Date of Birth. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for Personality Test which is scheduled to commence on and from 28.09.2026 under 03 (three) Range Recruitment Boards to be setup in Kolkata and surrounding. The e-Call Letters for the same will be available on the abovementioned websites on and from 21.09.2026. Candidates are requested to download their e-Call letter on keying of Application Sl. No. and Date of Birth. The candidate shall have to produce the printout of their e-Call Letter at the allotted venue before the Supporting Staff of the concerned Range Recruitment Board deployed for checking of testimonials on the date of Personality Test. The candidates are also advised to follow the instructions given in the e-Call Letter and to visit the above-mentioned websites on a regular basis.

The candidates will be required to upload their relevant documents prior to download their e-Call Letter. The following documents shall be uploaded by the candidates :-

• Proof of Age – Pass certificate/ Admit card of Madhyamik examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent issued on or before 31.08.2023,
• Certificate & Mark sheet showing that the candidate has obtained the Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent before his/her Date of Application,
• Copy of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the present head of the Office/Disciplinary Authority for candidates who are employed in any Government Organisation (As applicable),
• Domicile certificate issued by the competent authority for permanent residents of Hill subdivisions of Darjeeling & Kalimpong district (As applicable),
• Community certificate for Gorkhas, Rajbansis & Garwalis issued by the competent authority (As applicable). [Mandatory for those candidates who took relaxation in Physical Measurement],
• Caste Certificate for SC, ST candidates issued by the competent authority under the Govt. of West Bengal (As applicable),
• OBC certificate issued on or after 01.01.2023 as per latest State List of OBCs comprising 66 (sixty six) classes as notified in notification bearing No. 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18th May, 2026 of Backward Classes Welfare (BCW) Department. If issued earlier, Renewed/ Revalidated OBC certificate have to be produced before the Testimonial Checking Desk of the Range Recruitment Board concerned. Failing which the candidates shall not be entitled to get the reservation facilities under OBC category,
• Income and Asset Certificate (Annexure – C/for jobs under West Bengal Government only) for the candidates who belong to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) valid for the year 2022-2023 or onwards.

The selection process by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board is transparent and purely merit based. Hence, the candidates are advised to beware of the unscrupulous elements, racketeers, touts who may misguide them with false promises of getting them selected for the job on illegal consideration.
