Online applications are invited from intending eligible candidates (both Fresh and Lateral Entry candidates) for admission to the following Four-Year B.Tech. and Two-Year M.Tech. Programme at Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology (DUIET), Dibrugarh University for the Academic Session 2026-2027:

All students will have the opportunity to study Drone Technology through tlte Centre of Excellence (CoE) established through AICTE.

B.Tech. in:

Computer Science & Engineering (With Minor in AI and Machine Learning)
Electronics & Communication Engineering (With Minor in IoT and Data Science)
Mechanical Engineering (With Minor inAdditive Manufacturing or 3D printing)
Petroleum Engineering

M.Tech. in:

Computer Science & Engineering (Specialization in Artificial Intelligence ancl Machine Learning)
Electronics & Communication Engineering (Specialization in IoT and Sensor Systems)
Mechanical Engineering (Specializatton in Thermal and Fluid Engineering)
Petroleum Engineering

Eligibility

B.Tech. in:

Candidates should have passed l0+2 examination with - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics except Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering for which Chemistry is not mandatory. as per AICTE Approval Process Handbook (APH) 2026-2027 at the time of counselling. Candidates must obtain at least 45% marks $A% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
OR
Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector (The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired learning outcomes of the programme).
Must have CEE Assam-2026 (Engineering) or JEE-2026 (Mains) score at the time of counselling.
The candidate must be a citizen of India with a permanent resident certifibate of Assam [Not applicable for candidates of JEE-2026 (Mains)].
The candidate must not be above 2l yearc or below 17 yearc of age on 1st August, 2026. There shall be a relaxation of 03 (three) years in the upper age limit for SC/ST candidates. However, the maximum age limit for B.Sc. passed students is22 years.
The Candidate must possess a good moral character.
The Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.

M.Tech. in:
The eligibility criteria for students who shall be eligible fiir admission to the M.Tech. programme as stated below:

Passed the B.E. / B.Tech. in the relevant branches of Engineering and Technology with minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5/10 (Where conversion formula is not available) from an Institute or University recognizedby AICTE.
Qualified GATE or any other exit examination related to admission into PG programme in Engineering and Technology with a valid score. GATE- qualified students will get scholarships as per AICTE/MOE norms.
OR
The institute may conduct M. Tech. entrance examination if sufficient nos. of GATEqualified candidates are not available.
In the case of M.Tech. admission to Computer Science and Engineeringl Electronics and Communication Engineering students with MCA/M.Sc. (Computer Science) / M.Sc. (IT) / M.Sc. Electronics with a minimum of 55% or as per UGC norms may apply.

Lateral Entry (Only for B.Tech.)

The Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry to the 3rd Semester classes for the B.Tech. Programs mentioned above shall be as follows:

Passed Minimrim THREE years Diploma examination with'at least 45% marks (40% rnarks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology.
OR
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40%o marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
The candidates must be physically fit and possess a good moral character.
The candidates will have to produce the Citizenship Certificate at the time of admission. Students from abroad shall have to fulfiI the requisite conditions as prescribed by the Govt. of India.

Admission Criteria and Procedure

B.Tech. in:

Selection will be done on the basis of performance in the CEE-2026 or JEE-2026 in addition to the fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria.
Reservation and Relaxation Policy shall be followed as per the Government Rules.
The eligible applicants shall be informed by the University for counselling and admission sessions on the basis of the CEE-2026 and JEE-2026 scores. The cut-off marks and Schedule for counselling and admission session shall be notified by the. University in due course of Time.
Separate notifications for entrance examinations of the lateral entry candidates shall be notified later on.

M.Tech. in:

Applicants having a valid GATE score may apply directly without sitting in the entrance examination to be held by the institute.
Those candidates who don't have a valid GATE score have to appear in an entrance examination to be conducted by the institute.
Reservation and relaxation policy shall be followed as per the Govemment Rules.
Notification for the entrance examination shall be notified later on in www.dibru.ac.in.

Schedule

Online Application for B.Tech. (both fresh and lateral) / M.Tech. progroms will begin from 30/04/2026.
The Last Date of Submission of Online Application is 30/06/2026 (till 11:55 P.M.).

How to Apply?

Applications for admission in B.Tech./M.Tech. programs shall be through Online Mode only. No other means of application shall be accepted.
For submission of the Online Application Form, intending candidates are advised to follow the instructions to be available in the DUIET Admission 2026 Portal in the website www.dibru.ac.in.
A candidate has to pay an registration/application fee of Rs. 1,000/- at the time of Online Application.

Note:

The B.Tech. candidates must fulfill the Minimum Eligibility Criteria for adrnission, besides his/her position in the CEE-2026/JEE-2026 and mentioned in AICTE regulations.
Applicants are requested to visit the University website regularly to hhve the latest Information/Notification relevant to B.Tech./M.Tech. Admission 2026 issued from time to time as the case may be.
