It is hereby notified for all concerned that Alipurduar University will introduce the Curriculum & Credit Framework for Postgraduate Programmes of UGC, 2024 under NEP 2020 in different Postgraduate Programmes of the University from the academic session 2026-27.

In accordance with the Notification No. 638-Edn (U)/HED-12016(21/5/2025-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE dated 18/05/2026, issued by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, the admission procedure to the First Semester of the 2-Year PG Programmes (Session 2026-2028) will commence from 15^th July, 2026 to 30th July, 2026.

Note:
Processing Fee for PWD candidate is Rs. 0 and for BPL candidate is Rs. 0/-.
The processing fees mentioned are excluding Bank Charges and non-refundable. Payments will be made online through Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking / Wallet / Cash Card / QR.

Alipurduar University is going to introduce Curriculum & Credit Framework for Postgraduate Programmes of UGC, 2024 under NEP 2020 in different Postgraduate Programmes of the university from the academic session 2026-27, and admission procedure to the first semester of the 2-Year PG Programmes for the session 2026-2028 will be started in accordance to the admission notification, admission schedule and the guidelines as per Govt. Notification No. 638-Edn (U)/HED- 12016(21)/5/2025-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE dated 18/05/2026, issued by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.

Followings are the Postgraduate Programmes (duration- 2 Years or 4 Semesters) for the session 2026-2028, offered by Alipurduar University:

Eligibility

A 3-year/6-semester bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 120 credits is eligible for a 2-year/4-semester PG programme at level 6.5 on the NHEQF.
A student is eligible for a PG programme in a discipline corresponding to either major or minor(s) discipline in UG programme.
However, a graduate in CBCS system with honours and with minimum credits of 120 is eligible for admission in the respective honours subject.
Only the 3-Year graduates of 2024, 2025 & 2026 are eligible for admission in the 2-Year PG Programmes.

Selection Procedure

The University will admit the students in the PG programmes based on merit of the students’ performance in the 3-Year UG programme.
Merit lists in different phases for admission will be prepared strictly on the basis of the merit of the student’s performance in the 3-Year UG programme.
In case of tie in the merit of the students in UG programme, marks obtained in the immediately preceding examinations will be considered for ranking.
Mere publication of name in the Merit List does not guarantee the admission.

Note:

Only complete online application will be considered for the preparation of merit list.
All notifications and lists will be published in the following University website https://alipurduaruniversity.ac.in .
Incomplete applications with incorrect information will be summarily rejected.
Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD) must upload their caste certificate issued by the competent authority, on a date prior to the submission of application to get the benefit of reservation as per the orders of the Government of West Bengal as amended up to date. Certificate issued on a later date by any authority, will not be accepted at the time of admission.
PWD certificates should issued by the following competent authority: Officer-in-Charge or Medical Head of Block Health Centers, State General Hospitals, Rural Hospitals, Sub-Divisional Hospitals or the District Hospitals run by the State Government or any hospitals run by a statutory body or authority.
The admission of a student will be cancelled, if he/she remains absent in the class for consecutive ten days from the commencement of the semester without any intimation. The admission fees paid will not be refunded.
