CORRIGENDUM TO PH.D. NOTIFICATION 2026

In pursuance of the order issued by the Government of West Bengal, Department of Higher Education, University Branch vide No. 1178(45)-Edn (U)/HED-12016(21)/11/2026-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE dated 03.08.2026 regarding the adoption of National Eligibility Test (NET) as the mandatory criteria for Ph.D. admissions, a partial modification is hereby made to the earlier Ph.D. Admission Notification (Adv. No.: 001/Adv./Reg/APDU/2026) dated 17th July 2026.

In Clause 3 under the "Eligibility Criteria" section of the original advertisement, the provision allowing candidates qualified only in the State Eligibility Test (SET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) to be eligible for Ph.D. admission stands withdrawn.

Accordingly, candidates who have qualified ONLY in SET / SLET are hereby declared ineligible to apply for the Ph.D. courses for the academic session 2026–27.

Candidates who possess qualifications exclusively in SET / SLET and have already submitted their applications along with the application fee between 17th July 2026 and 31st July 2026 will be granted a full refund of their application fee (Rs. 1000/-).

The refund processing details will be notified on the official university website shortly. Affected candidates are requested to monitor the portal for updating their bank account information to facilitate the electronic fund transfer.

All other terms, conditions, and the schedule mentioned in the original advertisement dated 17th July 2026 remain unchanged.
