Notification for Modalities related to Hons. / Hons. with Research Undergraduate Degree Programmes

This for information of all concerned that the Executive Council, Bankura University in its 37^th meeting held on 25^th September 2026 approved the Modalities related to Hons. / Hons. with Research Undergraduate Degree Programmes for semester wise 4-Year Undergraduate programme (as Single Major only), as applicable under New Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programme (as per NEP 2020) under this University (introduced from 2023-24) as mentioned below.

Modalities related to Hons. / Hons. with Research Undergraduate Degree (UG) Programmes

1. Colleges/departments offering a 4-year UG Degree Programmes (Honours with Research) must have the required infrastructure such as the library, access to journals, computer lab and software, laboratory facilities to carry out experimental research work, and faculty member (Government approved) with Ph.D. degree.
2. Not more than 10 students per teacher should be engaged for research under 4-year UG Degree Programmes (Honours with Research).
3. The college may assign/involve faculty member(s) (Government approved) with Ph.D. degree from other department/college/University/ research institute, if necessary, for the purpose of research activities under 4-year UG Degree (Honours with Research).
4. University will not provide any financial assistance to colleges for the said purpose.
5. Inspector of Colleges of the University will issue a certificate of having proper infrastructure along with the required student-teacher mapping to carry on 4-year UG Hons. with Research degree Programmes by a college specific. On the basis of the certificate as mentioned the Faculty Council for Undergraduate Studies may allow the college to carry on the above programme as mentioned in proceeding sentence.
6. The college will provide student-teacher mapping for research under 4-year UG Degree Programmes (Honours with Research) to Secretary, Faculty Council for Under-Graduate Studies.

The above shall take effect to the undergraduate programmes mentioned above under New Curriculum and Credit Framework (as per NEP 2020) which has been introduced from 2023-24.
