Admission to M.Tech. Programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering (Microwaves), Session: 2026-2028, Batch: 2026-2027

Online Applications are invited for admission to two-year full time M.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Microwaves) Course for the session 2026-2028 at the Department of Physics. The course is approved by AICTE. Link for online form Fill up: https://forms.gle/bTdZYVMLLc4G7B2a6

Eligibility: B.E. or B.Tech. Electronics / Electronics and Telecommunication Engg. / Electronics and Communication Engg. / Radio Physics & Electronics Engg. / Electronics and Electrical Engg. / M.Sc. in Electronics / M.Sc. in Electronics and Communication / M.Sc. in Physics with Electronics with at least 50% (45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories) marks in aggregate or equivalent. Candidates awaiting their final result may also apply provisionally subject to production of Final Result before 30 November, 2026.

GATE-qualified candidates will get preference. A few seats are kept reserved for sponsored candidates fulfilling the basic eligibility and having at least two-year full-time work experience in a Registered Firm / Industry / R&D Institution etc after acquiring the basic eligibility criteria. Non-GATE candidates may also be considered for admission, if seats are not filled up by the GATE qualified and/or sponsored candidates.

Intending applicants are to first pay the application fee of Rs. 450/- using a Demand Draft in favour of FINANCE OFFICER, THE UNIVERSITY OF BURDWAN payable at State Bank of India, Burdwan University Branch. The Demand Draft No, Bank and Date will have to be inserted in the dedicated space of Google Form. After payment of Application Fee, Application Forms will have to be filled up in the University Website http://www.buruniv.ac.in OR https://forms.gle/bTdZYVMLLc4G7B2a6 from 11/06/2026 to 30/06/2026 (05:00 P.M.). The form filling procedure is exclusively in Online Mode. Tentative time for commencement of classes will be notified later.

The applicants would be classified in three categories viz.
Category A: GATE-qualified B.E. / B.Tech. candidates,
Category B: Sponsored Candidates having at least 2 years’ working experience in related fields after passing out and
Category C: Non-GATE .E. / B.Tech. candidates. Total intake is 24 (Twenty Four). Reservation will be as per rules.

Candidates falling under Category C will be considered for admission only if seats remain vacant after admission of candidates under Categories A & B. An online test of one hour duration will be held to prepare a short list of candidates falling under Category C.

Selection Criteria:Merit of selection of the candidates under different categories would be determined on the basis of the following:
For Category-A: GATE Score (70%), marks in B.E. / B.Tech. (10%) and performance in the ONLINE interview (20%);
For Category-B (Sponsored): Performance in the ONLINE interview and work experience;
For Category-C: Marks of an ONLINE MCQ test (70%), marks in B.E. / B.Tech. (10%) and performance in an ONLINE interview (20%).
LINKS FOR THE ONLINE TEST (if required) AND/OR INTERVIEW WOULD BE COMMUNICATED TO THE CANDIDATES THROUGH THE EMAIL PROVIDED BY THEM IN THE GOOGLE FORM.

List of selected / shortlisted candidates, as applicable, will be displayed in the university website (www.buruniv.ac.in ) and would be communicated to their email address provided in the Google form.

Candidates will be required to produce the copy of the proof of payment on the date of ONLINE Test and or Online Interview, as applicable. Copy of E-Receipt and copies of their testimonials are to be sent by email (as a single zip file) at the time of admission, if selected. Sponsored candidates must submit necessary release orders from the appropriate authorities. The email ids for sending the documents would be sent to the selected candidates in due course of time.

Candidates admitted to the course shall not be permitted to prosecute any other course of studies or be engaged in any job (part-time or full-time) or to prosecute alongside any full-time research work during the tenure of the course.
