It is notified for information of all concerned that in terms of the provisions of Section 54 of the Calcutta University Act, 1979, (as amended), and, in the exercise of his powers under 9(6) of the said Act, the Vice-Chancellor has, by an order dated 08.05.2026, approved the following amendment in the admission Regulations of Economics (Major) and Practical examination modalities for semester-2 of Economics (Major) Courses, taught in 4-year Honours & Honours with Research under CCF, 2022.

1. Amendment in corrigendum, dt. 30.06.2023 of CSR/05/2023

   In the clause no.13 (i), it was mentioned that students of Economics (Major) have to take up Mathematics as one of the Minor subject.

   It is amended and now Mathematics is not a mandatory Minor subject for the students of Economics (Major) and is offered as optional Minor subject.

2. Amendments in the Examination Modalities for Semester-2 Practical examination of Economics (Major)

   Practical examinations of semester-2 of Economics (Major) shall be held in the away Centers, as mentioned in the Examination Regulations of 4-year Honours & Honours with Research Courses (CSR/45/2023, dt.18.12.2023) under CCF, 2022.

   The Modalities for SEC Paper of Semester-2 of Economics (Major) are laid down in the accompanying Pamphlet.

The above shall take effect from the Even semester examinations, 2026 and onwards.
