Ph.D Admission 2025 (Cycle-1)

Admission of the students in Ph.D. programme under Ph.D. Regulations, 2025 (Cycle-1)

Step-1

Department will collect admission form and after scrutiny the Department will call for the interview according to their suitable date/s. Candidates will be informed by the Department through official website of University of Calcutta, individual Email and on the notice board of the Department.

Step-2

After interview the list of successful candidates [maintaining roster, allotted supervisor and co-supervisor (if any)] must be submitted to the Liaison Officer, C.U. before placing to the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor for final approval of the selected candidates. The list of successful candidates will be uploaded to the Calcutta University website and the notice board of the concerned Department.

Step-3

Department will issue an offer letter to the successful candidates (In Lieu of 4.6 of Ph.D. Regulations, 2025) with a note that they (candidates) must join the Department within 3months.

Step-4

Department will submit List of Successful candidates, Offer letters, Joining reports and testimonials of the candidates to the office of the PAO (i.e. Ph.D. Section) in hard copy format.

On receiving of the above, PAO will verify the documents and communicate to the candidate for payment and issue 'Admission Letter' after receiving the money receipt of Rs.1000/- (Ph.D. Admission Fees).
