4 Yr. B.Sc./B.Mus. (Hons. & Hons. with Research) under CCF (Curriculum & Credit Framework 2022)

Applications are invited following CSR/05/2023 DATED 23.06.2023 from a recognized Board/Council qualifying H.S. or (10+2) level examination not earlier than 2023 for admission to the following to Under Graduate Courses. Candidates have to pass English as a subject with full marks of 100 at (10+2) level.

  • 4-Year B.Sc. (Hons & Hons with Research) in Food & Nutrition (FNCU) (Group No. - 431)
    Seat: 61 + 6* + 4** + 6***
    Eligibility:
    • Female Candidate
    • At least 50% marks in aggregate# at(10+2) level
    • At least 55% marks in Chemistry (Pass both in Theory & Practical)
    ‘*’denotes supernumerary additional seat for OBC-A, ‘**’ denotes supernumerary additional seat for OBC-B and ‘***’ denotes supernumerary additional seat for EWS which cannot be converted into any other category due to nonavailability of suitable candidates of that category.

    • Preference will be given to the student who has passed with Home Management as a related subject at (10+2) level.

  • 4-Year B.Mus. (Hons & Hons with Research) in Rabindra Sangeet (RSCU) (Group No. - 437)

    • At least 50% marks in aggregate# at (10+2) level in any Stream.
    • Music as a subject at (10+2) level.

#’ aggregate marks mean % of Best four Subjects (marks obtained in ENVS will not be considered as one of the best four subjects).

For SC/ST/PWD Candidates for all the Honours Courses 40% marks in aggregate in (10+2) level and other conditions remain the same. The relevant Third Gender candidates is also eligible.

No candidate from West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training or equivalent are eligible to apply to the aforesaid courses.

Application to be submitted through online portal on the above-mentionedwebsite.

After submission of application, take a printout of submitted Application Form from the portal and keep them in your own custody.

Applicant should keep the following documents to his / her custody and to be submitted when call for:
  • Print-out of Application form.
  • E-Receipt for deposition of Application Fee.
  • Self-attested photocopies of 10th standard Admit Card / Certificate & (10+2)level Mark sheet.
  • Self-attested photocopies of valid SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD/BPL/EWS Certificate (if applicable).
  • Copy of Aadhaar Card.
  • Copy of APAAR ID / ABC ID.
Application Fee:
Rs. 500/- for General Candidates & others and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PWD Candidates.

All above documents to be submitted in the admission office of the Secretary, Faculty of Fine Arts, Music & Home Science, when it will be notified in the later stage.

Admission will be cancelled if documents are found not in conformity with the declaration in the form submitted online.

Instruction for Online submission of Application
  • Candidates those who interested to submit online application in University of Calcutta for admission should checked the notification on admission portal available on the website www.caluniv.ac.in / www.caluniv-ucsta.net. If eligible, then enrolled first and filled up the application form through link available on admission concerned admission portal.
  • To submit online application softcopy of recent Passport size (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm.) colour photo (in .jpg/.jpeg format less than 20kb size).
  • To submit online application need scan copy of signature of the candidate (in .jpg/.jpeg format less than 20kb size).
  • E-mail Id should be less than 30 characters. (Password should contain at least one capital letter, one numerical, one small letter and one special character).
  • Scan copy of all mark sheets (10th and 10+02) within max size 200kb in .jpg/.jpeg format.
  • Scan copy of age proof within max size 200kb in .jpg/.jpeg format.
  • Scan copy of VALID SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS certificate within max size 200kb in .jpg/.jpeg format.
  • Scan copy of domicile certificate (if applicable) within max size 200kb in .jpg/.jpeg format.
  • Create APAAR Id / ABC Id (Please see the instruction how to create APAAR Id / ABC Id).
  • After successful submission of Application Form, download & take a printout of the duly filled in Application and check carefully every information given.
  • After successful submission of Application Form, pay the application fee by online mode through the admission portal & take a printout of the e-receipt of payment of application fee.
  • Sign all pages of application form as well as all documents.
  • Candidates have to submit application form along with the documents mentioned above at the UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA, concerned Admission Office to be notified separately.
Merit List and Selection Procedure

Merit list of the candidate with Music as one ofthe subject at (10+2) level:
Merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in best of four Subjects + Music at (10+2) Level of Examination.
(Marks obtained in ENVS will not be considered as one of the best four subjects).
In case of tie marks obtained in Music will be considered.

Example:
Percentage calculation method:
Let a candidate have marks in 6 subjects as follows:
Bengali- 78, English- 74, Environmental Science- 85, Nutrition- 80, Music- 83, Home Science- 88
So best of four + Music subjects are: Home Science- 88 + Bengali- 78 + Music- 83 + Nutrition- 80 + Music- 83
Hence percentage of best of four= (88+78+83+80+83)/5=82.4 %
But preference will be given to the candidates having Music one of the subject at (10+2) level.

Merit list of the candidate without Music as one of the subject at (10+2) level:
An Entrance test will be conducted. Candidate without Music as one of the subject at (10+2) level has to appear in an Entrance test of 100 marks (Vocal test in 70 marks+ Viva Voce in 30marks). Merit List will be prepared on the basis of 50% of weightage on the percentage of best four subjects in (10+2) level and 50% weightage on the percentage of Entrance marks obtained.

Selection Procedure
Selection will made strictly on the basis of merit subject to availability of vacant seat.
Reservation of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD/EWS as per University rules / practices like other programmes.

If any changes or modification on Reserved Category will be framed in future by the Govt. of W.B. and subsequently accepted by the C.U., the changes or modification will be effective accordingly.

Where merit list prepared on the basis of Final Score, the SC/ST/PWD candidate should obtain Final Score not lower that 25% than that of obtained by the last candidates selected from UR Category.

Where merit list prepared on the basis of Final Score, the OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS candidate should obtain Final Score not lower that 10% than that of obtained by the last candidates selected from UR Category.

Merit list of Food & Nutrition:
Merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in best of four Subjects + Chemistry at (10+2) Level of Examination. (Marks obtained in ENVS will not be considered as one of the best four subjects).
In case of tie marks obtained in Chemistry will be considered.

Let a candidate have marks in 6 subjects as follows:

So best of four subjects: Home Science- 88, English- 74, Pol. Science- 80 and Bengali- 78
Hence percentage of best of four = (88 + 74 + 80 + 78) /4 = 80%
