Notice for II Phase of Applicants to PhD Programme in English
for the Academic Session, 2025-2026

This is to notify to all concerned that the interviews for Phase II admission to the PhD programme in English for the academic year 2025-26 will be held in the offline mode in the Department of English, Arts Faculty Building (Main Campus), University of Delhi, Delhi – 110007 from 16 April to 17 April, 2026. No request for online interviews will be entertained. These interviews may stretch beyond 18 April, 2026. The detailed schedule including specific date and time will be informed to the eligible applicants in due course.

Please note that those applicants, who do not fulfill the eligibility conditions for admission to PhD programme in English for the academic year 2025-26 including but not limited to those specified at various places in the Bulletin of Information, have not been shortlisted for the interview.

If the name of any applicant whose MA/NET/JRF is in a subject other than English, is included in this list, he/she is automatically ineligible to be called for interview despite his/her name appearing in this list. Further, if a candidate has not fulfilled the mandatory requirement of uploading a proposal ranging from 1500-2500 words, he/she has not been shortlisted for the interview even if he/she may be otherwise eligible. Candidates having GATE in English, but not having a fellowship, have not been shortlisted for the interview.

If for any reason whatsoever, you are unable to attend the interview on the date and time indicated by the Department in the schedule, no request for rescheduling/postponing the date will be permitted under any circumstances.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
