Admission notice for M.Tech. in Petroleum Technology 2026-27
(Petroleum Exploration and Production) Programme
Online applications are invited from eligible intending candidates for admission into the two year M. Tech. in Petroleum Technology (Petroleum Exploration and Production) programme of Dibrugarh University for the academic session 2026-2027.
Eligibtlity:
Candidates having B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical / Chemical / Petroleum Engineering and M.Sc./M. Tech. in Applied Geology / Geology / Geophysics / Chemistry from any recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply. M.Sc, in Geology / Applied Geolqgy / Gqophysios / Chemistly candidates" should have Mathematics in their B.Sc. level.
Candidates appearing in their ftnal semester quatifying examinations and whose results are awaited can also apply. However, they have to produce final semester mark sheet / grade sheet and pass certificate at the time of counseling & admission.

Method of Selection for admission:

The selection of eligible candidates for admission into the
M. Tech. Programme in Petroleum Technology
(Petroleum Exploration & Production) shall be done on the basis
of the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.
The formula for conversion of CGPA to percentage must be shown in
the candidate's grade sheet.
For final semester students whose results are awaited, the percentage
of marks obtained up to the 3rd/7th semester examinations will be
considered for selection.
However, at the time of counselling and admission, candidates have to
produce the final semester grade sheet/mark sheet and pass certificate
of the qualifying examination.
In case the results are not yet declared, the candidate must submit
an undertaking stating that he/she will forfeit the seat if he/she
fails to qualify in the examination.
The GATE qualified candidates having valid score card will get
preference in selection and admission into the program.
The GATE score card has to be uploaded along with the application form.

Candidate applying under the statutory reservation seats must have to upload their relevant documents (certificate etc.) issued by the competent authority. In case of nonproduction of such valid documents, applications will be considered under general category.

EWS students will be accommodated as per Dibrugarh University Guidelines for admission in PG courses 2026-2027.

Candidates applying under the Dibrugarh University employee quota are required to submit a printed copy of the application form in advance (before the scheduled date of counselling) to the Office of the Department of Petroleum Technology, Dibrugarh University, along with self-attested copies of relevant documents and a certificate issued by the competent authority of the University.

The selected candidates must have to produce the original testimonials and certificates at the time of interview / counselling. They have to submit a print copy of application form along with self-attested relevant documents.

The list of the selected candidates and date of counselling will be notified in the department Notice Board and on the university website (www.dibru.ac.in).
