Revised Schedule & Merit List for 5-Year Integrated LLB Admission 2026

Admission to Vacant Seats in the 5-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme via Samarth Portal –
Revised Schedule, Merit-Based Review, and Instructions to Affiliated Law Colleges.

Pursuant to approval by the Competent Authorities, and to ensure all admissions to the 5-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme for 2026-27 are strictly merit-based, the following directions are issued for information and compliance:

CLAUSE I: RE-ADJUDICATION OF EXISTING ADMISSIONS ON MERIT
  1. All candidates admitted through the Samarth Portal will undergo a fresh review based strictly on merit as per the published Rank List. Seat adjustments will be made accordingly.
  2. All Affiliated Law Colleges must follow the published Merit List in full, giving priority to merit rank over institutional or college-specific preferences, or any other criteria not approved by the University's Standard Operating Procedure.
  3. If a lower-ranked candidate is admitted while a higher-ranked candidate is denied admission due to institutional preference or other non-merit factors, the following will apply:
  1. The lower-ranked admitted candidate shall be required to relinquish their seat forthwith; and
  2. The said candidate shall be entitled to a full refund of fees paid, processed in accordance with the applicable University rules.

This is issued to ensure fairness to merit-qualified candidates and must be implemented without exception.

CLAUSE II: PROCEDURE FOR OFFER OF ADMISSION
  1. Affiliated Law Colleges must send admission offers to eligible candidates only through official college email addresses, between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. on the scheduled admission days.
  2. All communications must be sent to the candidate's registered email address in the Samarth Portal, strictly following the published merit order. No college may offer admission to a lower-ranked candidate while a higher-ranked eligible candidate in the same category remains uncontacted.
  3. Each admission offer email must require candidates to confirm acceptance within four hours of dispatch. If a candidate does not respond within this period, it will be considered a non-acceptance, and the college may proceed to the next eligible candidate without further notice.
  4. The college's email communication, along with the record of response or non-response within the specified time, will serve as valid documentation for moving to the next eligible candidate. Colleges must maintain complete, time-stamped records of all such communications for submission to the University upon request.
CLAUSE III: REVISED ADMISSION SCHEDULE

The revised schedule for the remaining rounds of Counselling and Admission for the 5-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme is as follows:

Sl. No. Activity Scheduled Date(s)
1. Second Counselling and Admission Round 13th – 14th July, 2026
2. Third Counselling and Admission Round 15th – 16th July, 2026
3. Fourth Counselling and Admission Round 17th – 18th July, 2026
4. Spot Admission 20th – 21st July, 2026
5. Commencement of Classes — AY 2026-27 1st August, 2026

All Affiliated Law Colleges are directed to complete each activity strictly within the specified dates. Requests for deadline extensions will not normally be considered for admission through the Samarth Portal; the terms shall remain unchanged and continue to apply in full force.

CLAUSE IV: REITERATION OF MERIT-BASED ADMISSION MANDATE

It is reiterated that all admissions to the 5-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme must be made strictly on the basis of merit, as per the published Rank List, and in full compliance with statutory reservation norms. The cut-off marks in CAT for UR and EWS category is 80 marks and 60 marks in case of SC, ST(P), ST(H) and OBC (NCL) categories.

No Affiliated Law College shall, under any circumstances, deviate from the merit order in granting admission, whether on grounds of institutional preference, geographic preference, personal acquaintance, or any other consideration extraneous to merit and reservation. Any admission found to be in contravention of this direction shall be liable to be cancelled forthwith, and the college concerned shall be liable to such disciplinary action as the Competent Authority may deem fit.

CLAUSE V: GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL

Candidates who believe they were denied admission on merit, or that the merit-based mandate was violated in their case, may submit grievances using the following official link:

All grievances submitted through the above link will be reviewed promptly by the University's Grievance Redressal Mechanism, and appropriate action will be taken without delay.

IMPORTANT
  1. This is a continuation of the earlier SOP issued in regard to ASSAM CAT-2026 (5 years LLB) admission, and hence, the other conditions of the SOP for admission to ASSAM-CAT LLB 5 years in the Samarth Portal shall remain unchanged.
  2. It is hereby reiterated that all admissions to the Five-Year Integrated LL.B. programme shall have to be given on a merit (rank) basis and following all statutory reservation norms.
  3. Notwithstanding anything mentioned above, the competent authority of the University reserves the right to grant exemptions from the aforementioned guidelines in exceptional cases, where it deems such an exemption is in the larger interest of the applicant(s).
