Pursuant to the resolution adopted in the meeting held on June 22, 2026, Gauhati University hereby notifies the criteria, rules, and administrative regulations for the selection and allotment of Endowment Seats for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) Admissions 2026 under different departments of Gauhati University as given below:

1. The Endowment Seats will be allotted on the basis of merit once all the Regular seats are filled up. The waiting list candidates will be given preference as per merit.
2. Endowment seats cannot be converted to non-endowment seats once admission is completed even in the event of vacancy in other seats arises in subsequent time.
3. Endowment Fee is payable one time only for the entire Programme. The endowment Fee is in addition to other fees as paid by the students for each semester.
4. Endowment Fee is non-refundable, hence once paid it will not be refunded in any case.
5. However, if a student forfeits or cancels his/her seat admitted under general category, the admission fee may be refunded as per UGC norms to the student.
6. There should be a cut-off marks for endowment seat which will be decided by the individual departments in consultation with the respective DAC.
7. A maximum of 5 (five) Endowment seats shall be offered under each individual programme in every department. However, the department may fix seats for endowment @10% of their existing seats, which should not exceed the maximum limit of five seats, subject to availability of seating capacities of the class room of every department.
8. One Time Fee for Endowment Seats:
   a. For Traditional/Non-traditional Subjects without Practical: Rs. 85,000/-

   b. For Traditional/Non-traditional Subjects with Practical: Rs. 1,20,000/-

   c. For Management (MBA), Professional Courses: Rs. 1,30,000/-

   Admitted students under Endowment seat will have to pay Admission Fee prescribed by G.U. for every semester.
