LL.M. Admission Notice 2026-27
In accordance with the Provisional Merit List for admission into the LL.M. program for the session 2026-27 published by the Secretary, University Classes, Gauhati University (Ref. No. SECY/UC/2026/2745 dated 23.07.2026), and the Rescheduled Dates for Admission Notification (Ref. No. SECY/UC/2026/2873 dated 31.07.2026) – the meeting of the Departmental Advisory Committee (DAC) held on 03.08.2026, unanimously resolved as follows:
- The admission will be strictly on the basis of merit and its status will be provisional in nature.
- It is hereby notified that the selected candidates who are yet to receive the result of passing the LL.B (3-Year/5-Year) programme leading to the award of the degree will be admitted provisionally to the LL.M. programme on the basis of the Entrance Examination conducted by the Gauhati University. They will have to submit proofs of duly passing all semesters of their qualifying LL.B. programme in form of mark sheets/certificates within fifteen days from the date of announcement of the result of final semester of the LL.B. programme held prior to the admission test to the LL.M. programme.
- No representation, request, appeal, or any other claim shall be accepted regarding the cancellation of the seat under the above condition.
- Upon receiving the email of ‘shortlisted for provisional admission’, the candidate shall:
- Immediately send an email at law@gauhati.ac.in expressing their willingness to accept the offer of admission.
- Thereafter, the candidate should immediately pay the prescribed admission fee through the provided admission link to complete the admission process.
Failure to complete the above steps within the stipulated time shall result in cancellation of the provisional admission offer, and the seat may be allotted to the next eligible candidate. Aspiring candidates are required to go through all the important instruction laid down in the abovementioned Notifications.
Candidates shall produce all original mark sheets, valid NCL/EWS certificates (where applicable), the Anti-Ragging Declaration, and self-attested photocopies of the application form and all relevant documents at the time of original document verification. The schedule for document verification will be notified separately.
