This is to inform all applicants seeking admission under the FYIMP Spot Admission process for the academic session 2026 that candidates who had successfully submitted their applications through the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal (https://assamadmission.samarth.ac.in ) are required to submit their subject preferences through the Google Form provided below.

 Important Instructions: 

  • Only those candidates who have selected Gauhati University Campus as their preferred institution in the application form submitted on the SAMARTH Admission Portal (https://assamadmission.samarth.ac.in ) shall be eligible to participate in the Spot Admission process at the Gauhati University Campus.
  • Candidates are required to submit a separate Google Form for each subject or programme for which they have applied through the SAMARTH Portal (https://assamadmission.samarth.ac.in ).
  • The Google Form will remain active up to 11:00 A.M. on 15th June, 2026.

  • The provisional merit list for Spot Admission will be published after 04:00 P.M. on 15th June, 2026 on the following websites:
    - https://admissions.gauhati.ac.in
    - https://gauhati.ac.in
  • Spot Admission will be conducted on 16th June, 2026, subject to vacancies published on the admission portal (https://assamadmission.samarth.ac.in ), at the respective academic departments of Gauhati University, as per the schedule mentioned below.
  • Procedure of Spot Admission:
    • The shortlisted applicants, as per the provisional merit list, need to report in person to the respective academic departments at the Gauhati University Campus for Academic Scrutiny and Documents Verification.
    • Upon finalisation of the list of shortlisted candidates by the respective academic departments, the academic departments shall issue an admission slip. The selected candidates shall report to the Meeting Room of the Office of the Secretary, University Classes (Arts Building), Gauhati University, and on production of the admission slip, the Spot Admission process shall be initiated. (Admission shall be granted strictly in accordance with the department-wise vacant seats published on the admission portal and subject to the fulfilment of all eligibility requirements.)
  • During the Spot admission process, students who have been selected are required to pay the admission fee online via the integrated payment gateway of the admission portal on the same day. Only upon payment will their admission be confirmed; failure to do so will result in cancellation of their candidature.
  • The Spot Admission process at the Gauhati University Campus will conclude at 05:00 P.M. on 16th June, 2026, and no admissions shall be entertained thereafter.
  • During the Spot Admission process, priority shall be given to eligible applicants who have not been offered admission to Gauhati University through the First or Second Merit List. Accordingly, applicants who have already received an admission offer in an earlier merit round and have not accepted it shall ordinarily not be considered for admission during Spot Admission, irrespective of their merit score. Such applicants may, however, be considered only in exceptional circumstances where no other eligible candidate is available for a specific programme–discipline combination and seats remain vacant.
  • All eligible candidates are advised to ensure completion of the requisite process strictly within the stipulated deadline. Requests for submission received after the closing time shall not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Not with standing anything mentioned above, the competent authority of the University reserves the right to grant exemptions from the aforementioned guidelines in exceptional cases, where it deems such an exemption is in the larger interest of the applicant(s).
