First Cycle of Hostel Admission Schedule for PG 1st Semester Students (Session 2026-27)

In terms of the decision taken in the Hostel Monitoring Committee meeting dated 6^th August, 2026, the first cycle of Hostel Admission for PG 1^st Semester Students (Session 2026-27) will be held as per following tentative schedule –

The dates are tentative and may be subject to change. Students/candidates are requested to visit the University website (www.nbu.ac.in) for further information, if any.

Interested students are requested to keep their family income certificate (2025-26 financial year) ready, which is mandatory for hostel application. The income certificate must be obtained from an SDO/BDO/Gazetted Govt. Officer not below the rank of Joint BDO. The Income Tax Return (ITR) will also be considered as a proof of family income.

This is the first round of hostel admission and to participate in this process the students need to comply with the followings –

1. Students admitted in 1^st semester PG till 9^th September, 2026
2. Admission taken for PG courses in the Raja Rammohunpur Campus (Main Campus) only. Students admitted for any PG course at Jalpaiguri Campus is not eligible for hostel at this point of time.
3. He / She has not availed NBU Hostel facility before, even may be for some other PG course (except BLIS to MLIS)

The merit list will be prepared based on selection criteria adopted by the University and mere fulfilment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee hostel admission.

It is clarified that the above admission process is for certain percentage of hostel seats only. Admission portal will be reopened subsequently for further rounds of PG 1^st semester admissions as well as those who did not get chance in the first round of hostel admission.
