Combined Provisional Merit List and General Instructions for Counselling

  • Candidates will have to appear for Counselling as per schedule (Rank-wise) given below. Allotment of candidates will be made strictly in order of merit and subject to the availability of Seats in respective Study Centre.
  • At the time of Counselling, candidates must have to bring the followings:
    • Any Photo Identity Card. E.g. Voter Card / Aadhar Card / Pan Card / Passport.
    • Copy of downloaded Application Form as submitted.
    • Copy of the downloaded payment received (Rs. 500/-).
    • Rs. 40,000/- (Forty Thousand Only) shall be deposited in Bank Draft (drawn in favour of Netaji Subhas Open University payable at Kolkata) / or may be paid through POs machine or QR code (UPI / G pay etc.) with help of Debit Card / Credit Card also at the time of counselling.
      (The programme fees will be received only after verification of candidature and also subject to the availability of seats. In the event of non-availability of seat, the bank draft will not be accepted and the candidates are to cancel their drafts at their own cost.)
    • All the Original Mark Sheets, Caste Certificate (for other than General Category) and proof of weightage claim (if any) along with photocopies of the same for submission. Failure of producing all the documents stated above will automatically cancel the candidature.
  • Candidates will have to report at the venue of Counselling {Netaji Subhas Open University, DD-26, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700064 (Landmark: Near City Centre 1, Opposite to Disari Bhawan, Phone Number: 033-4066-3224} 30 minutes prior to the stipulated time (As shown in the Schedule on second page).
  • Any discrepancy / anomaly noted in the provisional merit list, may be brought to the notice of the University 17th July, 2026 by e-mail (schooledu@wbnsou.ac.in) only.
  • As per directives of UGC-DEB, getting DEB ID is mandatory to pursue any programme under Open and Distance Learning mode. Therefore, applicants are requested to get their DEB ID from UGC-DEB portal (https://deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId ) before attending the central counselling process.
  • No T.A. / D.A. will be paid by the NSOU for attending the Counselling.
#Academic Qualifications attained from any fake university cannot be entertained and to this effect, UGC guidelines are to be strictly adhered to.

The rank of the Provisional Merit List may change due to any inaccuracy/disparity and lack of authenticity of the data entered or wrong/false/tempered/forged documents. Applicants shall remain responsible for the inaccuracy/disparity and lack of authenticity of the data entered or wrong/false/tempered/forged documents and the candidature maybe denied at any stage of admission and even during the continuation of the program.

Attending Counselling does not mean getting admission in the Course. Admission depends upon verification of records and availability of seats in respect of Study Centre. In the event of nonavailability of seat, the drafts will not be accepted and the candidates are to cancel their drafts at their own cost.

• HI stands for Hearing Impairment.
• VI stands for Visual Impairment.
• Note for All Candidates under the OBC Category:
University will follow the Kolkata Gazette Notification vide No. 944-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18.05.2026 and No. 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18.05.2026 regarding reservation of OBCs. Applicants who have already applied under OBC-A and OBC-B categories will also come under the purview of The Kolkata Gazette Notification vide No. 944-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18.05.2026 and No. 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18.05.2026. All concerned candidates are accordingly advised to take cognizance of these provisions before proceeding with the admission formalities.
