PhD Course Work 2026 Starts From 6 April Physical Verification Schedule

As directed by the Registrar (Actg), it is hereby notified for information to the respective concerned that commencement of Ph.D course work 2026 shall begin w.e.f. 06th April, 2026. All Heads / Directors are requested to prepare the class routine and allotment of classes, etc. which are required to run the Ph.D course work smoothly. A copy of the class routine may kindly also be sent to the Office of the Registrar through e-mail (regnbu@nbu.ac.in) for record only. It is further to be noted that classes will be held through offline mode. Heads / Directors are also further requested to send the list of the candidates who have taken admission in the Ph.D course work 2026. Please be noted that the entire Ph.D course work shall be on 12 credits including a "Research and Publication Ethics" course as notified by UGC vide D.O. No. F. 1-1/2018 (Journal/CARE) in 2019.

All candidates who are admitted for the Ph.D course work 2026 shall contact Librarian with a copy of fee receipt for issue of Identity Card.

PHYSICAL VERIFICATION

For the candidates of Arts, Commerce & Law 20th April 2026 at 11 AM onwards.
For the candidates of Science: 21st April 2026 at 11 AM onwards
Venue: Administrative Hall, Ground Floor Office of the Registrar, NBU.

The admitted candidates are asked to bring the following original documents for physical verification:
  • Marksheet and Certificate of MP, HS, UG, PG, M.Phil, etc.
  • NET-JRF, NET, SET, GATE, etc.
  • Reservation certificate (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/PWD)
  • Course work payment receipt.
  • Original Registration Certificate of University of North Bengal.
  • Migration certificates for candidates from other universities.
  • NOC from the appropriate employer, if employed.

It is imperative to mention here that the modalities for "Research & Publication Ethics" paper will be notified very shortly
