Admission to the Ph.D. and M.Phil. Programmes of Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional lnstitute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) under Gauhati University will be conducted only through GURET and as per Annexure- I of these General lnstructions.

Prospective applicant can apply for Ph.D. and M.Phil. in the available disciplines below.
GURET-2025 is mandatory for admission to the following subjects.

1. Psychiatric Nursing (Ph.D.)
2. Psychiatric Social Work (Ph.D.)
3. Psychiatric Social Work (M.Phil.)
4. Clinical Psychology (Ph.D.)
5. Clinical Psychology (M.Phil.)

• Applicant fee is Rs.1500.00 (One thousand Five Hundred) only per subject and the bank transaction fee
• For admission eligibility, please see conditions of eligibility.
• All applicants MUST go through the Central Application Process (CAP) and pay the CAP fee after successful completion of the CAP. Without the remittance of this fee, you will not be able appear in the GURET-2025. The fee should be paid through online payment gateway only.
• GURET 2025 (GU Research Eligibility Test 2025) is the first screening test after the CAP for admission into the PhD Programmes of GU. Following which counselling will be held for GURET-2025 qualified applicants.

1. Admission into the autumn session of the Ph.D. & M.Phil. Programme of Gauhati University for the academic session 2025-2026 (August 2025 to July 2026) is a three-tier process.

2. Completing the CAP DOES NOT guarantee admission into the Ph.D. & M.Phil. Programme

Selection Procedure:

1. GURET 2025: 100 Marks
2. Counselling will be held at LGBRIMH, Tezpur
3. Weightage of 70% on the GURET-2025 scores and 30% weightage on the counselling for admission to Ph.D. & M.Phil. Programmes.

Structure, Timing & Marking:

The question paper will contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions. For every right answer, 1 Mark will be awarded and for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. There will be no marking for un-attempted questions.

The syllabus for the GURET 2025 will be that ofthe concemed subject.

After GURET 2025

• The University will publish a merit list for each subject (in this website only) based on the performance of the student in the GURET 2025.
• The merit list will be considered by each department for counselling.
• The final list of selected candidates will be prepared by concerned Faculty Research Committee (FRC) and uploaded in the website of the Office of the Academic Registrar, GU for online admission of the candidates.

Other Details of GURET-2025

Merit list will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in GURET-2025. In case of a tie, i.e. when two or more candidates obtain equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be decided as follows:

1. Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.

2. Resolution by number of unanswered questions. Candidate with less number of unanswered questions will be given better rank.
3. If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates with higher age will be given better rank.

Reservation Policy:

Reservation of seat for OBC, SC, ST, PWD and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories will be applicable as per Govt. of India (GOI) Policy for LGBRIMH, Tezpur.
