This is information of all concerned that the provisional 1 st Merit List of the applicants selected for admission to Ph.D. Programme – 2024-25 in different subjects under the Faculty of Arts is now published in the University admission portal (online.rbu.net.in).
The merit list has been prepared solely on the basis of the candidates' performance in the Admission Test/Interview and the category claimed in their online application. No physical verification of category or other supporting documents has been carried out at this stage.
All shortlisted candidates are required to produce the original supporting documents, along with self-attested copies, at
the time of admission/physical verification. The documents must be valid and in conformity with the latest
Government orders, as applicable.
If a candidate fails to produce the required valid documents or is found ineligible to claim the reservation/category
benefit, such benefit will be withdrawn, and the candidate will not be entitled to admission under the claimed reserved
category. The University reserves the right to cancel or revise the candidature/admission in accordance with the
applicable rules and regulations
The selected candidates are advised to deposit the provisional fees through online Payment Gateway from 11/07/2026 to 17/07/2026. Please note that this provisional admission will be categorically treated as cancelled at the time of confirmation of admission and the deposited provisional fees will be forfeited, if the information entered during the filling up of Application Form do not tally with the actual marks reflected on the original mark sheets / certificates.
As per Govt. Rules, the candidates belonging to reserved categories who have found place in the general merit list on the basis of their merit will also be placed in the merit list for the reserved categories of candidates. It is mandatory for such candidates to exercise their option on whether they would like to be placed in the general merit list or the separate merit list for reserved categories of candidates. Admission would be made as per the option exercised by the candidates. The option once exercised shall not be altered under any circumstances. Option will have to be submitted at the time of deposition of admission fees.
All original mark sheets, testimonials, Certificates, Form submission receipt, all bank payment receipts, Downloaded application Form along with a set of photocopies of the same have to be produced at the time of confirmation of admission on 21/07/2026.
After the scheduled dates of admission, no application for admission will be entertained.
The candidate will have to submit cancellation certificate at the time of confirmation of admission, if he/ she is pursing any other degrees / courses elsewhere
Candidates already in employment must produce “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE AND CERTIFICATE OF SANCTION OF LEAVE’’, at least for the tenure of six months for the course work programme from the Employer to pursue the academic programme of Ph.D. For the sample format please see the Notice No SFC/Ph.D/06/26 dated 18/05/2026 which is available in our University website as well as in University admission portal
