Notice for Publication of Provisional 1st Merit list for 2-Year PG Admission under the Faculty of Arts, 2026

This is information of all concerned that the provisional 1st Merit List of the applicants selected for admission to different PG Programme under Faculty of Arts is now published in the University admission portal (online.rbu.net.in ). The Provisional First Merit List for admission M.A. (Two years, under semester system) in Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Economics, Philosophy,Political Science, Education, Sociology, Hindi , Geography, Environmental Studies, Master of Social Work (MSW) and Human Rights & Human Development subjects under the Faculty of Arts were prepared on the basis of data submitted by the applicants through online applications as per Notice No FC/PGA/15/2026 dated 01/09/2026.

The scores have been calculated completely on the basis of the marks entered by the applicants online. If any anomaly is found in the marks/score or other information entered by the applicant online with that of the original documents during the time of admission confirmation, the application of such candidates will be rejected and Booking Amount paid online will be forfeited as well as Admission will be treated as cancelled.

The selected candidates are advised to deposit the provisional fees through online Payment Gateway after verifying the total score reflected against his/her name from 22/09/2026 to 26/09/2026. Please note that this provisional admission will be categorically treated as cancelled at the time of confirmation of admission and the deposited provisional fees will be forfeited, if the information particularly marks entered during the filling up of Application Form do not tally with the actual marks reflected on the original mark sheets.

On basis of the Notification No. FC/PGA/15/2026 dated 01/09/2026 for candidates falling under the eligibility criteria specified in Clause (c) and (d) an admission test shall be conducted by the concerned Department. The merit list for such candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the admission test. The date of admission test will be notified in due course.

The provisionally admitted students must report to the Admission Section of the University for confirmation of their provisional admission through verification of documents on the day of verification for admission confirmation on 05/10/2026 to 07/10/2026 (exact schedule of confirmation on basis of physical verification of documents of a particular subject is stated bellow), failing which his/her provisional admission will be treated as canceled. No further application in this regard will be entertained any more after the scheduled date.

As per Govt. Rules, the candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PC/EWS) who have found place in the general merit list on the basis of their merit will also be placed in the merit list for the reserved categories of candidates. It is mandatory for such candidates to exercise their option on whether they would like to be placed in the general merit list or the separate merit list for reserved categories of candidates. Admission would be made as per the option exercised by the candidates. The option once exercised shall not be altered under any circumstances. Option will have to be submitted at the time of deposition of admission fees.

All original mark sheets, testimonials, Certificates, Form submission receipt, all bank payment receipts, Downloaded application Form along with a set of photocopies of the same have to be produced at the time of confirmation of admission.

After the scheduled dates of admission, no application for admission will be entertained.

The candidate will have to submit cancellation certificate at the time of confirmation of admission, if he/she is pursing any other degrees/courses elsewhere.

If seats remain vacant, next merit list will be published on 29/09/2026.
Commencement of Classes: 30/09/2026.
Admission fees deposition: 22/09/2026 to 26/09/2026.
