Eligibility Criteria 2026-27 UG Admission

An applicant who has passed 10+2 level from any recognized board/council (except vocation board) in the year 2023/2024/2025/2026 with at least 45% marks in aggregate or 50% marks in the subject or related subject is eligible to apply for 3 Year Bachelor / 4 Year B.A. (H) / B. Sc. (H) Program with Single Major. An applicant who has passed 10+2 level from any recognized board/council/Vocational boards in the year 2023/2024/2025/2026 is eligible to apply for 3 Year B.A. (MDP) in Humanities B.VOC in Automobile. In case the required subject is not available at the Higher Secondary level, the highest marks obtained in any two language subjects shall be considered.

Philosophy No subject bar, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or any subject.
Education No subject bar, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in anyone subject.
Santali 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in anyone subject,
Geography Geography, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in Geography.
Physics Physics, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in Physics.
Chemistry Chemistry, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in Chemistry.

Physiology Nutrition / Bio-Science / Chemistry, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in anyone of the above subject.
Physical Education & Sports No subject bar, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in anyone subject.
BS in Computer Application (BCA) Mathematics, 45% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or 50% in Mathematics.
BS in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) 45% marks in H.S. with Physics, Chemistry, and Biological Science Or H.S. with Physics, Chemistry and 50% in Biological Science
B.VOC in Automobile 10 + 2 in H.S. / Vocational boards in Arts / Science stream. Preference will be given to science stream students or those who have passed Automobile in vocational boards.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Admission criteria under CCFUP for 2023-24 and onwards shall be governed according to the guidelines issued by the Government of West Bengal and Debra Thana Sahid Kshudiram Smriti Mahavidyalaya as applicable from time to time. Proposed basic admission criteria applicable for UG Admission from the session 2026 – 27 are as follows:
  • Candidates passing the Higher Secondary Examination (10 + 2) conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council (as per Registered Board/ Council lists of Vidyasagar University) are eligible for admission in the undergraduate programmes with Single Major and Multidisciplinary Studies under CCFUP within three (03) consecutive academic sessions including the year of passing the qualifying examination.
  • Candidate must have passed in 4 (Four) recognized subjects including at least one language subject (excluding Environmental Education / Studies) including at least one language subject in the qualifying examination.
  • Students who have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks in the Aggregate (to be calculated by adding the marks obtained in ‘Best Four’ subjects including at least one language subject excluding Environmental Education/Studies) along with pass in the subject/related subject or 50% marks in the subject or related subject are eligible to apply for admission in the Single Major (Honours/Honours with Research) programmes.
  • Students carrying pass marks in Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examinations with at least a pass in four subjects including at least one language subject (excluding Environmental Education/Studies) are eligible to apply for Multidisciplinary programmes under CCFUP.
  • Candidates passing the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) from the Vocational stream conducted by the respective Board/ Council for vocational studies or any other equivalent board/council are eligible for admission within Four (04) consecutive academic sessions including the year of passing the qualifying examination in the undergraduate programmes in Multidisciplinary Studies only fulfilling the other criteria.
  • All admission to the 1st Semester of the undergraduate programme of studies is subject to Merit calculation and availability of seats in a particular ‘Major Subject’ for a 4-year Honours / Research programme and seats available in a particular field of studies for a 3-year Multidisciplinary programme.
  • All admission processes to the First Semester in the affiliated Degree Colleges shall be completed according to the guidelines of the Government of West Bengal and/or the Academic Calendar of each Academic year of Debra Thana Sahid Kshudiram Smriti Mahavidyalaya as applicable from time to time
CALCULATION OF MERIT POINT
  • Admission be done on a merit basis and merit points for admission in a 4-Year Bachelor’s with Honours programme are to be calculated by adding 10% of total marks obtained in the Best of Four subjects including at least one language subject excluding Environment Education/Studies at Higher Secondary / Equivalent examination and the marks obtained in the subject or related subject in which the admission in honours course is sought.
  • Merit points for admission in a 3-year Bachelor’s in Multidisciplinary Studies is to be calculated by adding the marks obtained in the Best of Four subjects including at least one language subject excluding Environmental Education/Studies of Higher Secondary /equivalent examinations.
  • If any student of the Science stream in Higher Secondary /equivalent examination applies for Honours in Bengali /English /Hindi, his /her merit point is to be calculated proportionately by deducting marks obtained in the practical examination
