ALL INDIA ENGINEERING ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION-SECONDARY (AIEESE-Secondary) is an examination body that offers scholarships to aspiring students who qualify for government engineering colleges, including IITs, NITs, and IIITs, through the JEE examinations.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification requirements:
  • Students aspiring to pursue Engineering, at Government-approved universities and colleges must have completed their 10+2 examination with the following subject groups.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) for Engineering (B.Tech/BE) candidates who are currently appearing for or have already passed their Senior Secondary (12th classs) Board Examinations from a Government-recognized board, such as CBSE, ICSE, State Board etc., are eligible to apply.
  • All those students who have registered for or planning to apply for the JEE (Main or Advanced) to get admission to IITs, NITs, and IIITs need to apply for the AIEESE (Secondary) to get the benefit of scholarship.
Age limit:
  • Candidates born on or after 1 October 1997 are eligible to apply for the AIEESE (Secondary) examination.
  • For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Physically Handicapped (PH) categories, the upper age limit is extended by 5 years, allowing those born on or after 1 October 1992 to apply.
Eligibility Criteria for AIEESE (Secondary):
Students who aspire to become future engineers from IITs, NITs, and IIITs and are currently studying in 10+2 or Senior Secondary, intending to apply for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced), are eligible.

Becoming an IITian is the dream of many ambitious students who aim to succeed as engineers after completing their Senior Secondary education. Typically, engineering aspirants apply to prestigious public institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs after clearing entrance exams such as JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). However, these premier institutions offer limited seats and charge high fees, making it difficult for many talented students to afford such an education. Financial constraints often discourage many capable candidates from pursuing their goals.

The AIEESE (Secondary) Scholarship Examination helps these students by providing scholarships that cover their four-year tuition fees.

AIEESE (Secondary), we appreciate the significant achievement of students who excel in their JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) exams, and we support them by offering scholarships and guidance throughout their education.

All candidates who excel in the AIEESE Secondary and secure admission to an IIT, NIT, or IIIT are eligible for scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded based on the candidates' performance in the AIEESE Secondary. The top performers will receive a scholarship covering four years of tuition fees, while high achievers will receive a scholarship for one year of tuition fees and meritorious students will be awarded a scholarship in the form of a laptop.
Application Procedure
The AIEESE (Secondary) 2026 application form can be filled out by following the steps given below.
The registration form is on the right side of the home page. Fill in all the basic details and create your account.
Note: Candidate can use the same User name and Password to apply for AIEESE (primary and secondary).
  • Step 1: Fill in basic details: Once the account is created successfully, the student can fill all the basic personal details.
  • Step 2: Pay the application fee: Students need to pay the application fee online according to their categories. Application fees are given below.

    SC / ST Rs. 1,250/- + GST

  • Step 3: Fill in contact details: The guardian's mobile number, alternate mobile number, and other details.
  • Step 4: Fill in the address: The candidates need to fill in the permanent and corresponding address.
  • Step 5: Fill in the examination details: Select the examination date (choose any one slot from Slot I, II, III or IV) and the examination centre (select three choices: Choice 1, 2 and 3).
  • Step 6: Fill in academic details: Students can fill in 10th and 12th details.
  • Step 7: Upload documents: Students need to upload a passport-size color photograph and signature.
Get the application number and take a printout of the filled-out application form and payment receipt on final submission.

Note: If there are any corrections in your filled application form, you will have the opportunity to correct them on a specific date which is given in the important date section. you will need to log in to your account to make this correction.

Schedule of Examination
Exam Schedule:
AIEESE (Secondary) is scheduled as per the following tentative dates and timings. For the convenience of candidates, the examination would be conducted four times, where the candidate can choose a single slot of examination during the application.

  • You may choose any of the available examination slots.
  • The exam timings will remain the same for all slots, applicable to both Indian and international candidates.
Pattern of Examination
The examination is conducted online. Candidates can select three examination centres from a list of centres available across India. The exam will be held on four different dates, which can be found in the "Important Dates" section.

The test covers these subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & Logical reasoning (PCM) for Engineering. Each section contains 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with a total of 200 marks.

The candidates have to mark only one answer against one question on the OMR sheet. Each correct answer carries 4 marks. For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted from the total mark. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.

The syllabus of AIEESE Secondary for engineering is based on the 11th & 12th curriculum. The exam will test student's knowledge in these core subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English proficiency and Logical reasoning.

Examination Centers
Applicants must select three preferred examination centers from the provided list. Centers will be allotted based on priority, with AIEESE Secondary aiming to assign the first chosen center whenever possible. However, due to limitations, not all applicants can be guaranteed their first choice. The Board reserves the right to assign any of the three selected centers, and once allocated, the center cannot be changed under any circumstances.
