Candidates should apply for Common Eligibility Test (CET) through the Website https://fms.b-u.ac.in/cet
from 06/04/2026 to 30/04/2026 by 11:59 P.M.

Application fee: Rs. 1,000/- for all candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates (Copy of Community Certificate should be enclosed) to be paid online.

Candidates should apply for Common Eligibility Test (CET) through the website https://fms.b-u.ac.in/cet from 06/04/2026 to 30/04/2026 (11:59 P.M.).

Mode of CET: The CET will be conducted as Computer-Based Test in specified Examination Centers located in Coimbatore.

Date of CET: 30/05/2026 and 31/05/2026. The University reserves the right to change dates mentioned above.

The examination schedule and examination center will be announced shortly on the Bharathiar University website.

Note 1. Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/SET/GATE, awardees of DST-INSPIRE fellowship, scientists working in DRDO, faculty of Air Force Administrative College, candidates possessing an M.Phil. degree (with minimum of 55% in M.Phil. examination), holders of teacher fellowships (like FIP and FDP) and candidates of foreign origin possessing prescribed qualifications shall be exempted from appearing for CET.

Note 2. The candidates are requested to visit https://fms.b-u.ac.in/cet frequently to check for updates.

Note 3. Securing a minimum of 15 marks out of 50 in Common Eligibility Test is mandatory for eligibility for admission to Ph.D. programmes, as per the Regulations of Bharathiar University.

Application Guidelines

Guidelines to fill up the Application Form through Online

Before filling the online application, ensure the availability of the following documents in digital form (soft copy):
- 10th Mark Sheet, 12th Mark Sheet, UG Mark sheet, PG Marks Statements of all the semester in “PDF” file format not exceeding 300 kb each.
- Candidates currently in the final semester must upload mark statements for the first 3/5 semester mark statements in “PDF” file format not exceeding 300 kb each.
- Community certificate (for SC/ST candidates), Course Completion Certificate (for candidates who have not yet completed the final semester of PG programme), and Certificate of Disability (if applicable) in pdf format not exceeding 300 kb each.
- Candidates are advised to ensure that all scanned documents/images are clear and readable before uploading. After uploading, kindly re-check the files for readability.
A passport-size photograph of the applicant in “JPEG” format, not exceeding 200 kb. Kindly avoid selfies or pictures taken using mobile phones. Please ensure that the picture quality is good.
The applicant’s signature, signed using a blue or black pen on white sheet, in JPEG/PNG/JPG format, not exceeding 50 kb.
A valid email ID for the registration process and for receiving all the correspondence related to the admission process.
The application fee must be paid online only.
The last date for submission of online application is 30/04/2026 by 11:59 P.M.
A hard copy of the completed online application form, along with the photocopies of all relevant certificates, must be sent BY POST on or before 07/05/2026. The envelope should be superscribed as:
"APPLICATION FOR Ph.D. COMMON ELIGIBILITY TEST - 2026 in (SUBJECT NAME)" and addressed to:

The fields marked as "*" are mandatory which are to be filled without fail while filling up the application form.

Incomplete application is liable for rejection

The Common Eligibility Test application form is for Ph.D. programmes (Full-Time/Part-Time) for the academic year 2026-2027 offered in the Bharathiar University Departments, Affiliated Colleges and Recognized Research Institutions of the University. The online Application form is available in the University official website: https://fms.b-u.ac.in/cet.

The candidate should fill in the online application form and upload the relevant supporting documents as required.
An application fee of Rs. 1,000/- for all candidates (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates on submission of the copy of community certificate) is to be paid through online mode.
Candidates in the final year of Post Graduate Programme should submit the Course Completion Certificate as mentioned in the Annexure–I.
Candidates having a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in the Master’s degree are eligible to appear for CET 2026 (for SC/ST candidates the minimum eligibility is 50%) and copy of the mark statement of PG degree should be enclosed.
Candidates must secure a minimum of 15 out of 50 marks in Common Eligibility Test to be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.
Last date for submission of the online application is 30/04/2026 (11:59 P.M.).
The subject for the CET examination should be the subject major in Post Graduate degree obtained by the candidate.
In case the PG degree major is not listed as a subject option for CET, the candidate must choose the CET subject option that is close/most relevant to their P.G. degree major subject.
The filled-in application submitted online should be downloaded and, along with all relevant enclosures (self-attested photocopy of relevant certificates) must be sent to ‘The Coordinator, CET 2026, Department of Psychology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore – 641 046’ by post on or before 04.05.2026 in a closed envelope super scribed as ‘Application for Ph.D. Common Eligibility Test 2026-2027 in the subject: ________’.
Candidates having a P.G. degree awarded by universities other than Bharathiar University should produce the equivalence certificate from TANSCHE/Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi to ascertain equivalence with Master’s Degree offered by Bharathiar University, if requested by the Bharathiar University during admission.
The candidates possessing professional degrees such as M.E., M.Tech. and PG degrees in Medicine, Law, Agricultural and similar other professional courses are not eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programmes of the University.
